Surveillance footage shows a tour led by Loudermilk to areas in the House Office Buildings, as well as the entrances to Capitol tunnels.

Security cam footage shows people in M.A.G.A. hats taking pictures of stairwells and security checkpoints. Republicans and the leadership of the capitol police denied that anything like this took place. They lied. One person who was on the tour was later filmed saying: one person who took the tour saying during the march to the Capitol: “There’s no escape Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler. We’re coming for you.”
Republican in Congress tried to get their Democratic colleagues murdered. That is what happened.

You have no proof that that's what happened. There's no proof that this was a deliberate "reconnaissance tour" and that conflicts with what the police thought about the video footage. This committee is truly grasping at straws and drawing false inferences about this tour because they know they're not able to provide any evidence that Trump or other Republicans were involved in this mostly peaceful protest.
Capitol Police had likewise refused to release the footage. Still, the House Administration Committee on Monday released a letter detailing its own description of the footage, including that Loudermilk separated from the group at around 1 p.m. that day.
“The group continued in the Cannon without Representative Loudermilk. At no time did the group appear in any tunnels that would have led them to the U.S. Capitol. In addition, the tunnels leading to the U.S. Capitol were posted with USCP officers and admittance to the U.S. Capitol without a Member of Congress was not permitted on January 5, 2021,” Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger wrote in the letter.
“We train our officers on being alert for people conducting surveillance or reconnaissance, and we do not consider any of the activities we observed as suspicious,” he added. –Updated at 11:26 a.m.
The House committee investigating the attack on Jan. 6, 2021, has released footage tied to a tour Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) gave the day before, showing a man taking photos of hallways in the C…

That quote was from two days ago, before the footage I linked to was released. Contrary to this statement, the "tourists" were, in fact, shown two separate tunnels that led to the Capitol and were taking pictures of security checkpoints and stairwells. Who takes pictures of security checkpoints? Who comes to DC to tour service tunnels in office buildings rather than the Capitol building itself? This is objectively suspicious behavior and Republicans said explicitly that there were no tours given on January 5, especially ones that included people with M.A.G.A. hats. We've got suspicious behavior coupled with an attempt to cover up the suspicious behavior. Smoke, fire.
Yes, no evidence that Trump was involved in the insurrection, other than the fact that he convened it, his friends helped pay to shuttle people up there, he riled the crowd up before hand, he wanted to participate in march, he didn't lift a finger to protect Congress/his VP when his minions were sacking the Capitol, and he told all the rioters that he loved them afterwards. Oh, and his good buddy Roger Stone was paying the Oathkeepers (several of whom have been arrested on seditious conspiracy charges) to provide "security" and was paling around with them on Jan. 5.
Everything that is wrong with America can be blamed on the administration from 2008 to 2016. He is the blame, not the history and culture of the country before he came into Office. So we have the world of CNN & MSNBC News.
No, let's blame the guy before him, that's real bright. But the guy before, for 8 full years, he was just dandy, LOL!!!! He wasn't rich before he came into Office, but now he's worth 70 plus million dollars. He certainly didn't f up the culture that we now live in.
Also, I fixed your post old guy. You're welcome.
Below, all a big coincidence eh?
The Convicted Perpetrator In March 1999 Carl Derek Havord Cooper (29) was arrested and charged with these murders. For two years, working only on a tip from a caller into America’s Most Wanted, police pursued and surveilled him, but never had enough evidence to make a case against him. That is, until he confessed after a 54-hour interrogation, a confession he later recanted. Prior to the murders, a 9:15 witness had tried to gain entry only to find the front door locked, with the employees cleaning up inside and waving him away, leaving it unclear how Cooper was able to gain entry later for his botched robbery[5]. The three were shot reportedly because she refused to give him the keys to a safe that held more than $10,000 in cash. The cash was not taken, but Mahoney was shot dead. The lead detective in the case for the DC government, Jim Trainum, who has a lawsuit pending against him for allegedly and unwittingly getting an innocent woman to confess to murder. In February 1994, working a case about a body found near the Anacostia River, Trainum interrogated the suspect, Kim Crafton. After a 17-hour interrogation, Crafton confessed to the murder. But Trainum soon discovered through the logs at Crafton's homeless shelter that she couldn't have committed the crime. She was released from jail 10 months later.[6][7] Cooper in his confession says that he used both guns in the killing and says that he then buried them on the grounds of a Catholic home for unwed mothers in Hyattsville, Maryland, near his DC home. The police claim they went digging in search of the guns but came up empty. Sister Josephine Murphy, the head of the facility, said she "never knew the police were looking for anything. I was just so surprised", making analyst David Martin point out "It is virtually inconceivable that the police would have gone digging on Sister Josephine’s property not just without her permission but also without her even having realized it."[8] In April 2000, Cooper was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole[9] after pleading guilty. In addition to the Starbucks triple murder, Cooper pleaded guilty to murdering a security guard in a D.C. apartment building, the attempted murder of a Prince George's County, Md., police officer, robbery, racketeering, conspiracy and operating a continuing criminal enterprise. The Washington Post reported during his trial that Cooper told FBI agents: “I swear on my father’s grave and my son’s life that I didn’t do Starbucks.”[10] Eric Butera An police informant in the case, Eric Butera, who was trying to help homicide detectives solve the triple killing, was beaten to death in an unrelated sting operation.[11]
Textbook deflection. Nothing to say about the Jan 6 hearings. You think if you change the subject we won't notice.
Since you can't quote me accurately (along with anything else) this was my actual comment before you tried to turn it into another of your strawmen to attack.

That's exactly the type of response one might expect from someone in a country where only 60% of kids regularly attend school.

Why is someone from NZ even concerned about the US administration? It's not like the US is a threat to NZ (other than Biden's foreign policy failures look to be a danger to the entire planet). You should be more concerned with the long term affects of Labour's COVID policies on the younger generation. Seems like shutting down schools caused a lot of them sit around and do meth and MDMA and they haven't really reengaged in school. That will likely have a much longer lasting impact on NZ than COVID itself.
I see you still live in a fantasy world. Jan 6 was no fantasy. More like a nightmare.

Wow, he's from New Zealand? That'd be like one of us going on a forum about the politics of New Zealand and ripping them day after day when we don't live there. What a putz.
He wastes hours of his time trying to sound intelligent on the politics of the greatest country in the world and he doesn't even leave here. I know he's not married and has no kids, so I guess he's got a lot of free time to spew his incessant lies.
Tell me about the lies that came from your former glorious leader. Over 20,000 documented before Jan 6 - and they have never stopped. But the trooth hurts, I guess.
Nobody who pays attention on the Left is learning anything new from these hearings
Nobody on the Right is going to have their mind changed by these hearings
The average American who is other ambivalent doesn't have the attention span to care.
What these hearings ARE doing is providing enough PR cover for the DOJ to finally take some action and indict people. The DOJ has been moving at a glacial pace to indict any elected official for what happened leading up to or on Jan 6 2021 because doing so takes what would otherwise be a criminal matter and makes it a seemingly political matter in the eyes of nearly half this country. You only get one shot, you better not miss.
To that end, these hearings being nominally 'bi-partisan' will present enough evidence for the DOJ to move forward, with or without a criminal referral from the committee (again mixing criminal behavior with political prejudice). At the end of the day, the DOJ will be able to say that after a bi-partisan hearing, and careful review of all the evidence presented to them, portions of which the public is now aware of, they are handing out indictments to X, Y, and Z....most likely some Republican members of Congress, members of the Trump administration, leading up to the big question, will Trump himself be indicted. That's for the DOJ to see how far they want to pull that string.
Otherwise, these hearings are just a show to give the DOJ cover to make that decision. Nobody is being swayed either way.

That is evidence, but its not the primary evidence. The primary evidence that Trump was involved in the January 6 riot/insurrection is the statements of the rioters/insurrectionists themselves. Dozens of them told the police during interviews (before being charged) that they entered the Capitol building because Trump told them to. Those are considered "admissions against interest" which are not subject to hearsay rules, and are considered very probative and accurate in our judicial system.
That is compelling and nearly irrebuttable evidence. The only way I can think to rebut it is:
1.) Allege the rioters/insurrectionists were lying and pointing fingers at Trump to escape criminal liability. That seems highly unlikely, as most rioters/insurrectionist were very big fans of Trump and unlikely to rat on him. And again, they told police that they were doing what Trump told them to do before being charged. Furthermore, pointing fingers at Trump won't limit one's personal criminal liability, although it may be a mitigating factor at sentencing.
2.) Allege that the rioters/insurrectionists misunderstood Trump's directives. That also seems highly unlikely. It could be true if only a handful of confused, illiterate rioters showed up in DC on January 6th and entered the Capitol building. But we are talking over 800 people entering the Capitol, so its extremely unlikely they are all similarly mistaken as to what Trump told them. Granted they haven't all said they were there because Trump told them to be, but dozens of them have expressly said that, and hundreds more have implied it. It's extremely unlikely so many people could misunderstand the same directive from one single person. The odds against such mass confusion must be astronomical.
It comes as the Government is set to announce a package to tackle stubbornly high truancy levels, with now over 40 per cent of students not going to school regularly - an increase of 10 percentage points since 2015, with huge disparities for Māori and Pacific children and lower-income households.

The quote from the police chief was about the video footage (which was obtained from the capitol police), none of which shows them in service tunnels. He literally said there was no footage of the group inside any service tunnels, which he pointed out are guarded and not publicly accessible. Since you claim to know more about what happened that day, you should probably call the capitol police chief and fill him in. We believe in you!
"you should probably call the capitol police chief and fill him in."
Something tells me that this Chief and Loudermilk are drinking buddies !
The only testimony and evidence of intoxication thus far is that relating to Giuliani (attorney to Trump). And none of that evidence shows that Giuliani was over the legal limit.
There has been NO evidence that Loudermilkers or Capitol Police Chief Manger (or any Capitol police, for that matter) were intoxicated on either (1) election night or (2) riot day.

Yet, despite your massaging of statistics the country remains significantly more literate than yours. Jan 6 is the most compelling evidence yet of the continuing descent into falsehood, lies, ignorance and violence in the US. But you'd rather avoid talking about that, notwithstanding the subject of the thread.

The issue is that most people are aware of January 6th and agree that it was embarrassing. It’s attempting to used as voter fodder for the Democratic Party ahead of midterms. People cared about this over a year ago, now not so much. The people who do care about it now already have their political loyalties in place: the hardcore trump fans will continue to hold their position and the hardcore left would never vote for the republicans anyway.
I’ve said it before and it holds true…people care about their ever increasing grocery bill, energy bill, and inability to fill their gas tanks due to rising gas costs. Even the leak of roe v wade possibly being overturned didn’t get the needle moving for the dems, and it’s because people are suffering financially and the blame gets to be laid at the feet of the party in power…the democrats.
other piece of all this is that is also seems they are worried about trump running again in 24 and the dems really don’t have anyone they can run against him. The Democratic Party bench is very weak and Biden isn’t a valid option in 24. Kamala Harris isn’t either. Who else is there? Bernie or warren?
I’m right down the middle politically and this January 6th deal doesn’t move the needle for me, and most of the people I know, in terms of voting choices. It honestly doesn’t even rank in the top 5 of pressing issues I consider when voting.
You are not right down the middle politically if January 6th doesn’t move you.
Many Republicans and conservatives were very disturbed on how that day played out and Trump’s role in leading a hugely unethical attempt to hold onto power he rightfully lost.
You can’t shrug at that. You either believe in consequences for wrongful actions or you didn’t see that as wrong. If you didn’t see that as wrong, you hoped it would have worked.
As far as the economy, wages are up and unemployment is down at the moment. Those are two big factors of how the economy is viewed. Yes, inflation is up and that’s because people have money and demand is up.
Tougher immigration has kept the US from having enough low wage workers to keep supply up with demand.

Another strawman attack by the old guy living alone in New Zealand. Now I understand your obsession, thanks to whoever pointed out that you live in New Zealand.
