Two of the highest-ranking Democrats in Congress have called for gender-neutral bathrooms to be installed in the Capitol building. Assistant Speaker of the House of Representatives Katherine Clark (D-MA), and House Democratic...
If these crimes against humanity and democracy were all so egregious you wouldn't have to lie about them...
just keep in mind that this Republican gave tours of government property next to the capitol building to at least one fellow Republican who said on camera his goal was to impale pelosi and schumer with the sharpened flagpole he had brought along to the insurrection.
Not sure this is the kind of defense you want to post up. I mean unless you want to demonstrate that Republican congressmen tend to gather in violent insurrectionist groups with the goal of killing the Speaker of the House and Senate Leader.

Yeah, read about this whole thing last night. I was confused when I saw twitter exploding over it today as if it hadn't already been debunked... it's like people only pay attention to the news sources that align with their own biases rather than searching for a more complete understanding of the situation.
When someone talks about the years and expense involved in going to med school, do you understand that to include the years and expense they spent on getting an undergraduate degree--without which, in this country, it is essentially impossible to get a medical degree? I don't understand it that way, and I really doubt that the majority of Americans do. Certainly the several MDs in my family would disagree with your statement.
Similarly, when someone says, "My master's program is going to cost $27,000" [or whatever], s/he's ordinarily not including what the expenses for a bachelor's degree were.
Context is important. Take, for example, a 17 or 18 year old kid that just graduated high school and hasn't taken any college courses. Is he going to say "I'm going to finish by masters degree in 2 years!" or is he going to say "I'll be finished with my masters degree in about 6 years"? That isn't necessarily going to be the case for someone who is currently in college, having just finished their bachelor's degree, and is applying for a masters program (or continuing on with the masters program at their current school), or someone who has already finished it, but that depends on the context. Generally, without qualifiers such as "after I finished my undergrad," or "after getting accepted into the masters program at ________," most people are going to assume you're including the time and expenses of undergrad in addition to the time spent in the masters program.
In the context of "How much time and money is it going to take for someone to go to college and earn a masters degree" without any further qualifiers, most people are not going to assume you're skipping over the undergrad years and expenses. It wouldn't be logical to do so.

They were already caught lying. Their credibility is shot. Schiff lied during the impeachment hearings. The guy heading up the committe is supposed to preside over the hearings in an impartial way but he was saying Trump was guilty on day one. This Committe simply has no credibility. Stick a fork in it - it is done.

whether anything has been debunked depends on what you think the claim is.
certainly, a GOP congressman fudged on whether he gave a tour to violent insurrectionists.
certainly, the group took weird pictures of doors and tunnels and entranceways
certainly, at least one of the people on the tour came to the jan 6 riot intending to invade the capitol building.
This isn't debunkable.
Whether the congressman knew about the evil plans of his fellow Republicans is a question. And what the Jan 6 people accused him of is not exactly clear. Certainly nothing too sharp edged to my knowledge.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” Schumer said. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
And then a Democrat showed up to kill Kavanaugh.
Perhaps this moron in the video just thought that's how politics worked based on Schumer's own words?
Meanwhile back in 2022. Joenomics is kicking tushie. 👎👎👎👎
The Fed's decision comes in response to record-high inflation and shrinkflation which has crippled the nation's economy for months. May's Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed an 8.6% inflation which has steadily increased since President Biden entered office.
In a fresh sign that inflation won’t abate soon, the Producer Price Index, which logs business costs, soared 10.8% over last year — close to the record high set in 1981.

Correct me wherever I'm wrong, because maybe I've misread something:
The J6 commission claimed a GOP congressman gave a tour of the Capitol building, as well as the tunnels that lead to the Capitol building. They made this claim with the purpose of saying that he aided the rioters by allowing them to 'case' the layout of the tunnels and the Capitol building so that the rioters could later use that knowledge during an insurrection.
The Capitol Police refuted this claim, saying that it was known to them that he gave a tour of the House office building rather than the Capitol building and that he never took his tour group anywhere near the tunnels which are off limits and have officers stationed nearby (so he couldn't have possibly sneaked past them somehow with a large group in tow).
No one is trying to debunk that one of the people who were in that tour group ended up being a crazy person. What was debunked was the claim that the GOP congressman gave a tour of the Capitol building and the tunnels that lead into it.

I think it is a myth that the committee specifically said members gave recon tours of specifically the *Capitol building.*
the committee did voice interest in tours given of the *capitol complex*
which is true, that happened.
but other Dems regrettably and loosely said ‘Capitol’ rather than ‘Capitol complex’ and that started the rumors flying.
Republicans denied there were any tours at all, then when caught out for that, fudged the Capitol vs complex issue. So people got suspicious because of the fudging.
it’s a big mush because of inexact accusations, terminology and defenses.
the weirdness is all the photos of access points, doors and tunnels.
and that violent people were welcomed to the Capitol complex by a member of Congress. Even if an accident, that’s not great .

Ok... if it wasn't specifically about the Capitol Building, what specifically is the issue of Loudermilk giving a tour? Simply the fact that one person in that tour group turned out to be a crazy and violent individual? Nothing was gained by that individual by taking a tour of the HOB since he never got near the tunnels... so if it really wasn't about the tourists getting an inside scoop as to how the Capitol building is laid out, it's just a "guilt by proximity" witch hunt? THAT is the argument you're wanting to make in saying this wasn't debunked, and that THAT is the purpose of the J6 investigation?
I don't see the point in the outrage or inquisition if it wasn't about a potential tour of the Capitol Building.

I guess you didn't read the piece. Maybe it's paywalled.
You are basically right, but the Repubs lied at first so it looked like the Repubs were covering up something. So people got interested.
Basic line of story:
Dems: "Hmm....Lots of tours through the Capitol complex on Jan 5. weird. the only way in there is with GOP reps or aids. Do you Rs know anything about it?"
Repubs: Absolutely no tours of any kind were led by Repubs on Jan 5 in the Capitol building
Dems: but we didn't say 'capitol building' we said 'capitol complex' and why are you denying this? we have video of GOP loudermilk leading a tour of the complex. here, watch. Are you hiding something?'
Repubs: oh that? No, Loudermilk wasn't leading a tour - some constituents stopped by and he walked around the complex with them.
Dems: Uh huh.
Loose speaking Dems: GOP members led tours of the capitol.
That's the general gist of it. Some details are arguable.
But sure, can't really blame loudermilk for the actions of that nasty krew with the sharpened flagpoles and plans to kill Dems the next day. but his false denials and fudges (for ex capitol not capitol complex) were cheesy and made many angry.
Yeah, Loudermilk didn't do himself any favors by lying about giving any tour at all... on that I can agree. I just don't see the relevance with regards to why the J6 committee desperately needs to question him about it, or the public going crazy over it, if that's the extent of evidence of any misdeeds on his part. The only reason I could think of for his being questioned about it after the Capitol Police specifically stated he never took the tour group near the Capitol Building or the tunnels to it is if it's to drag him through the mud (in other words: they're making it political rather than actually asking important questions, which only backs up claims by the GOP that this is nothing more than a witch hunt -- even though there are valid questions worth investigating).
