Paper? Magazine? This is ridiculous, if it's going to be in print somewhere this weekend there is no need to keep it secret anymore.

I'm guessing the paper article will precede the longer magazine article-- at least I hope so. There certainly is enough of a story here, lots of angles. In fact, I'm thinking it would be perfect for Psychology Today.
One of the more interesting aspects is how any acquaintance or friend of Kips can ignore/excuse his actions?
A good guy? A great man?
This man has numerous DQ's, not just one, including the Missoula Marathon-- and not even his most ardent supporters are disputing the veracity of the disqualifications.
10/10.
SOKLR and Kip Litton have just spent years preparing and executing the largest and most successful troll attempt ever on LetsRun.
I bow before you, humbly defeated and entirely trolled.

Whilst undeniably an interesting angle it fails the usual conspiracy test that so many people would need to have been in on the conspiracy and the cover up that you and I would have been involved at some point.
Do we count his made up races as DQ's or what do they get filed under?

This would be great!
Kip or someone is trolling here. there is a national writer. it is not coming out tomorrow or this week though.
Kevin, stop listening to random anonymous posters.

Why do you think im Kip? As far as I know, for 2009 and most of 2010, Kip's reputation in his local community and the online community was at least fair to excellent - there was an article written about him in the local Flint Michigan newspaper in 2010 praising his running accomplishments, which you can find here
http://blog.mlive.com/flintjournal/runners/2010/04/042510-kip-litton.htmlYou think Kip wanted anyone to know about the cheating? my SOKLR blog showed many of the accomplishments in the 2010 Flint newspaper article were false results, so why do you think I'm Kip? That's pretty amazing if you think I'm kip and I(kip) planned such an elaborate 3-4yr trolling scheme.
Even the author of that article, Bill Khan, commented on my blog recently about the BayShore Marathon, writing:
"Bill Khan said...
Ah, 2009 Bayshore, a race near and dear to my heart. My first marathon and, to date, still my best. I was in Kip's age group, but not quite in the Larry Gutierrez category to get my name on the results you showed. Hey, if he gets DQ'd, I move up a place! I remember seeing his time and being really impressed. Now, I realize there's no reason to be impressed with anything he does. Worse yet, I WROTE AN ARTICLE on him for The Flint Journal after the 2010 Boston Marathon. I remember thinking how remarkable it was that his marathon times were all within a few minutes of one another, knowing how you can have a bad day really easily in a marathon. I feel duped. I don't know how else to prove to you I'm not Kip himself. The fact remains some character racing under Kip Litton traveled around the country from 2009-2010 and cheated in road races. And he's been DQ'ed from a number of them (at least 8 so far). And I don't care if this guy worshipped/worships God or pink monkeys.
I agree that either SOKLR is either Kip or an accomplice. Too much invested in the story for just your average joe.
However, I could be wrong and SOKLR is just some swell guy who decided to devote a hell of a lot of time to create, promote, and maintain a website about some guy he has never met.
Got Stalker?

Fixed.
If you any of you have read Running For The Hansons... Kip Litton is mentioned in it by name. It was a short and unflattering sentence. Made my day though!
I seriously doubt Sage Canaday would have risked a libel suit if the cheating wasn't true.
Think about it folks. Why would some stranger dedicate so much time and energy to Kip? It just doesn't make sense. Perhaps we can get some of these internet sleuths to do a little digging on SOKLR. Hmmmm.
I'm new to the thread but have suggested this many pages ago. SOKLR is Kip... He has the ego and the cleptomania to do something like that. He wants the attention, if he makes up race results why not an alias on letsrun? Can anyone confirm that Kip honesty really his real name?
Someone put a huge amount of effort into this, something I would do with my countless hours of time in college.
JOKM/ (kip/troll) ... you've got a knack for spreading FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt). Do you not think you'd be better off in a Washington lobbying firm?
To answer your stupid question, "why would anyone set up a website to chase kip?", I'd do it because it's a fascinating story. That's it, that's all. I'd suggest that if you can't comprehend that, then you're not normal.

So you have one too? Can you post the url?
If you are new to the thread then how did you post 'many pages ago'?

Guys. Look what kip is doing to us! Don't let Kip win!
No doubt that as this story spreads, with local folks in Davison and Clarkston asking around, Kip and his friends (or imaginary pals) will come on try to divert attention . Hopefully we can keep some sanity here and not let these guys ruin the thread.
Also, it's pretty amazing (if true) that Sage Canaday points out Kip Litton in the Hansons book? HAHAHHA what now Kippy?!!!??
Kippy doesn't live that far from the Hansons team in Michigan.
Why does anyone dedicate so much time to anything; running, video games, sluething on the internet... etc...
In this case, I'd say it started out as pure fascination and ended with entertainment and an actual desire to bust a cheater... and why not try to see something through after so much time has been spent sleuthing!
The problem here is that Kips cheating is insulting. It insults people who legitimately ran races, and it undermines the work and training that went into those performances.
I won't lie, I could care less about Kip Litton and his cutting courses. He doesn't affect me what so ever. What does bother me is that he knocks someone out of the most coveted marathon in the world.
It's the holy grail of American Road racing. While there are many of us that can qualify without killing ourselves, there's a larger part of the running community who's sole goal is to qualify for that one race... the thought of some guy working his ass off to be the first guy out because a douche like Kip Litton cheating makes me think he's getting what he deserves...
I find this thread magnetic. It's entertaining. It's filled with conspiracy theories, hilarity, sadness, anger... it's got all the aspects of a made for TV movie...
As far as "The Article" that will most likely never come out, unless there is some form of remorseful apology, it will be nothing more than a condensed version of the thread making most of this worthless anyway... but at least it's entertaining.
Kip Litton... If you actually do read this, I hope the rest of your life doesn't revolve around the self gratification of accomplishments that you haven't earned. That's just a sad life. It's called integrity, get some.
