The USSR declared war on Japan on 8/8/1945 and entered Manchuria, rapidly overwhelming Japanese positions there.
Just before midnight on August 9, Japanese Emperor Hirohito convened the supreme war council. After a long, emotional debate, he backed a proposal by Prime Minister Suzuki in which Japan would accept the Potsdam Declaration “with the understanding that said Declaration does not compromise any demand that prejudices the prerogatives of His Majesty as the sovereign ruler.” The council obeyed Hirohito’s acceptance of peace, and on August 10 the message was relayed to the United States.
You are showing an ignorance of the most basic facts.
Actually, that's not what you originally said, you said when they entered the war, not declared war on Japan.
However, this is all fluff. Good distraction, but has nothing to do with Russia invading Ukraine.

We were talking about the surrender of Japan.
God you people are frustrating. So gullible, so vulnerable to propaganda

The second atomic bomb was dropped on August 9. Their surrender had nothing to do with Russia at all.
to clarify, I am not supporting the dropping of the atomic bombs. I’m just stating the facts of what happened.

So, these events happened after the second atomic bomb was dropped and do not support your misrepresentation that Japan was ready to surrender "following the entry of the USSR". Now, it's probably true that the Soviet Union's invasion of Manchuria contributed to Japan accepting unconditional surrender, but was not nearly as important as the use of atomic weapons.
In fact, even after the first atomic bomb was dropped, Japan's government was still publicly stating they were going to fight to the bitter end (though the War Council was working to negotiate more favorable terms than the Potsdam declaration through the Soviet Union).
But, since we're going down this road... let's review the Soviet Invasion of Manchuria and what Wikipedia has to say:
During the invasion of Manchuria, Soviet and Mongolian soldiers attacked and raped Japanese civilians.[39] The local Chinese population sometimes even joined in these attacks against the Japanese population with the Soviet soldiers. In one famous example, during the Gegenmiao massacre, Soviet soldiers, encouraged by the local Chinese population, raped and massacred over one thousand Japanese women and children [39][40] Property of the Japanese were also looted by the Soviet soldiers and Chinese.[41] Many Japanese women married themselves to local Northeastern men to protect themselves from persecution by Soviet soldiers. These Japanese women mostly married Chinese men and became known as "stranded war wives" (zanryu fujin).[42]
According to Soviet historian Vyacheslav Zimonin, many Japanese settlers committed mass suicide as the Red Army approached. Mothers were forced by Japanese military to kill their own children before killing or being killed themselves.[43] The Japanese army often took part in the killings of its civilians. The commander of the 5th Japanese Army, General Shimizu, commented that "each nation lives and dies by its own laws." Wounded Japanese soldiers who were incapable of moving on their own were often left to die as the army retreated.[43]
British and U.S. reports indicate that the Soviet troops that occupied Manchuria (about 700,000) also looted and terrorized the local people of Mukden, and were not discouraged by Soviet authorities from "three days of rape and pillage". In Harbin, Chinese posted slogans such as "Down with Red Imperialism!" Soviet forces ignored protests from Chinese Communist Party leaders on the mass rape and looting.[44][45][46][47][48][49] There were several incidents in which Chinese police forces in Manchuria arrested or even killed Soviet troops for committing various crimes, leading to some conflicts between the Soviet and Chinese authorities in Manchuria.[50]
During the Soviet occupation of North Korea, it was also reported that Soviet soldiers also committed rape against both Japanese and Korean women alike in the northern half of the Korean peninsula.[51][52] Soviet soldiers also looted the property of both Japanese and Koreans living in North Korea.[53]
So, it sounds like Soviet / Russian troops have a history of committing terrible war crimes, including the unnecessary killing of civilians, that dates from WW2 to their current invasion of Ukraine.
You are a special and incredibly diluted individual.
Where did you copy and paste that from?
Phil Giraldi.
You ought to read it instead of just exhibiting a Pavlovian response as programmed
Hey, carmine9 the plagiarist, you should attribute the work of others you post on the site. That is, if you were an honest man you should do that. But you don't. Just as you have made allegations and repeated ignored posters' requests for evidence.
A guy who claimed Isreal created Covid-19 to punish Iran? Sounds like a real deep thinker.
It's odd how all of your reading list is coincidently filled with Holocaust deniers. Must just be really bad luck.
Again, no addressing the points made, just smear the messenger.
How did you work the Holocaust into this?
Are we not allowed to evaluate sources based on their prior work? Are we just supposed to blindly read every article that you post and never consider the author's history of Holocaust denial and anti-semitic conspiracy theories?

Amazing.
Holocaust denial and anti-semitic conspiracy theories are relevant to evaluating honesty, bias, and intellectual capacity. Anyone who complains about propaganda as much as you do should know that and be honest enough to admit it. But you can't even cite sources or back up claims when requested, so that is asking too much of you.

Ladies &/or gentlemen, N.A.T.O. never should have expanded east of Germany. That was adversarial. No way Russia can tolerate Ukraine in N.A.T.O. International peace means no N.A.T.O. on Russia's border. Are you four too thick to understand?
If Russia has to turn what was Ukraine into a desert to prevent Ukraine from being a N.A.T.O. nation, that will occur. The four of you have been unable to grasp that reality.

It is relevant because you have been calling the people of Ukraine Nazis at every turn. If you can advocate for damning the entire nation of Ukraine to submit themselves to Putin's rule such that they never again have the freedom to protest, freedom of the press or even the right to an opposition party whose leaders aren't poisoned and imprisoned just because a few hundred soldiers out of a standing army of 245,000 and 220,00 reserves are neo-Nazis, then it is certainly relevant when you quote someone who has a very dark track record on making anti-Semitic comments (and generally bat sh@t crazy comments).
This is your friendly reminder that NATO is a defensive alliance. It poses no threat to Russia until Russia decides to invade a sovereign country. Russia's unwarranted and unprovoked aggression now means Russia will soon have more NATO countries on their borders. Russia will soon collapse from within. Every aspect of Russia is inept. I sincerely doubt even a fraction of their nuclear arsenal is still functional.

Cool story. The English words in your first sentence don't make any sense in their current agglomeration.
I think we can all agree that after this war the Russian Federation should be balkanised into a million little pieces. They have shown that they are incapable of existing in the civilized world in their current form.
Ukraine, a country with actual history and culture, unlike the RF, can then exist as a stable part of greater Europe.

Given that gibberish, you have little standing to call others thick. Ukraine wanted to be in NATO, but NATO wasn't even close to adding them. You and Putin are too thick to understand that the world sees that excuse for the fantasy that it is.
I certainly understand what Putin wants and thinks he cannot tolerate, but just because Putin wants something doesn't mean he can have it. He created a straw man of supposed aggression by a defensive alliance, and used it to justify attacking another country. Among the consequences are many dead Russians and Ukrainians, a resolve by NATO to increase armed forces on their eastern border into the future, and possible addition of Sweden and Finland (which apparently find Putin's standard for hostile action to be capricious -- maybe they are thick, or maybe they have been watching Georgia, Crimea and Ukraine), and damage to Russia's economy and world standing).
If Ukraine wants to surrender, they can surrender. No one is making them fight a larger nation (other than Putin), NATO is just giving them tools. It might be useful to try to understand why Ukraine would rather take limited help from the West and face an uphill battle to survive, than simply surrender. Certainly national pride matters. But probably as much or more is that they know Putin and the Russians are thieves and butchers. They will kill, steal and rape; they are doing in now, they have done it elsewhere, and they did it in Ukraine in WWII. They will "find" a number of Ukrainian Nazis equal to the number they want for work camps and imprison them. The result will not be a 'neutral' Ukraine. If it exists at all it will be a vassal state. And ironically, because it will effectively be Russian territory, Putin will still have NATO on his borders. Nice thinking, Vlad.
So look in the mirror. People would rather die than be associated with you. And maybe they would rather die with a gun in their hands killing Russians than die kneeling on a road with their hands tied while some coward shoots them from behind.

The gist of Cold War Failure2, Putin is my idol and can do no wrong.
NATO was already on Russia's border since Latvia and Estonia joined in 2004. In the 18 years since they joined, zero invasions of Russia were launched from either country. Maybe international peace actually requires breaking up Russia into many smaller, democratic countries (and shipping a little piece of Putin's putrid corpse to each one).
Nobody doubts that Russia has the ability to bomb Ukraine indiscriminately, but so far Russia has show no inkling of being able to actually field a modern, competent army that is needed to actually hold the territory that they bombed. Nor do they have the ability to replace the tanks or planes that are being destroyed. And, as Europe moves away from Russian energy imports, Russia's economy is going to collapse even further.
Now, can you try to make a coherent argument that doesn't make you look like you have the intelligence of a third grader?
