Democrats are embracing the move away from fossil fuels.
Yeah and we're paying through the nose for it. The world will depend on fossil fuels for a long time... and the more we produce the less we have to beg the worst dictators in the world for it.
Hardloper just dropped some cold hard facts. Seeing Brandon beg the Saudis and Maduro is just plain embarrassing.
We can produce more AND use less. There will be tons of demand around the world for a very long time.
We will absolutely not get off oil and gas quickly. We're also paying for our lack of investment in nuclear (thanks Dems).
We can produce more oil, but the oil companies don't want to.
I sort of agree with you about nuclear. I don't think it will ever be cost effective to build new plants, but we do need to spend more to upkeep the plants we have and finish the ones under construction.
The transition off oil and gas is already happening fast. But by fast I mean we will use very little of it within 20 years. Unfortunately, that may cause supply problems as investors stop spending money on long term gas and oil projects. Transitions are never easy.
If oil companies didn't want to produce more oil then there would be no need for government intervention. No reason for Biden to cancel leases if nobody wanted them anyway.
Building nuclear plants would get cheaper if we do it more due to economies of scale. Developing countries like India are building them. How can they afford it and not us?

Shows how well thought out this plan to sanction Russia and the attempt to regime change Maduro were.
The Biden admin has no experts, no professionals. Just fanatics
Until EV technology is ready for universal adoption and we already have just as many charge stations as gas stations plus a beefed up grid to handle the load, then we can say goodbye to fossil fuels. We are least 10 years way from that, probably 15 years.
Until that day comes, we must ramp up our domestic oil production so that we don't have our POTUS raiding our Strategic Petroleum Reserve and begging OPEC to increase production. We cannot remain dependent on other countries for our energy needs, especially when we have plenty of our own.
The two pronged approach is just common sense and there is no need to inject politics here. I hope our next POTUS adopts this energy strategy starting in Jan 2025.
ironic that gary thinks the WH controls oil production.
what we are facing is literally a failure of the free market. Literally a market failure. here's what happened:
We let private enterprise produce crude and refine it into gasoline. Free market, with some restraints sure.
these private companies decided drilling and refining wasn't worth the effort and risk. So they didn't do it.
And we are all now paying the price for their refusal to drill and refine.
And gary thinks this is a government failure. It's mostly a market failure.
It's a bit more complicated than that but that's the biggest piece. Oil companies pulled in their reins during COVID and haven't wanted to take more risk. This is the price we are paying for market failure.
Oil was cheaper and plentiful when the previous administration encouraged domestic oil production and we increased the global supply. So yes, a POTUS has influence.
You on the other hand, have zero concept of reality, Baghdad agip.

You are living in fantasy land.
Less than 40% of the oil is used by cars. The notion that we'll be using little oil in 20 years is absolutely absurd.
Tesla is 20 years old. In 20 years, Tesla has managed to to become less than 1% of the market. What on earth makes you think companies that don't even exist yet are going to replace all of the buses, trucks, planes, and ships completely in the next 20 years???
nah well sorta. in fact the manner of how you are wrong is ironic, because the only way we could produce enough oil for 100% of our needs is government assistance.
Once the price of oil goes below $50 or $60, where it often is, we can't produce oil at a profit within our borders. So we'd need the government to subsidize oil companies, or something like that. Otherwise the companies will do what they are doing now...not produce out of risk control. or go bankrupt.
Plus, there's all different kinds of oil that are needed and we don't make produce some of them.
That was before shale oil was a thing...
Shale oil breaks even between $30-$50 with technology driving that number lower every day.
The average price of a barrel of since 2010 is over $70.
You're telling me I'm wrong while being completely wrong... lol.
shale is only is around 65% of US oil production so you can't just shout 'shale' and say we're done here. The rest has to come from other sources that are more expensive. Which will require government subsidy I guess.
plus, shale has serious water issues given that the entire western USA is in serious drought. And shale wells deplete quickly. Shale will not save the day.
5 out of 100?? it’s like a golf score, right? Lower the better? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
💩🥪
Not like a golf score or Earned run average. Lower not really better. Tesla only makes 4 models. I saw one rating company give another Tesla model a 3 (out of a 100)! Some GM Suv got a 99.
No. No. No. I thought Teslas were the best cars out there. Don’t tell me I’m wrong. 😂😂😂😂😂
"Ignorant pig." adult once again showing his unique and more varied badness in comparison to the other Trumpers.
Oh you're just upset because Cankles Cheney's political implosion is a real time demonstration of how out of touch you are with reality.
The world has no use for people like you and Cankles.
Oh, now you have to mock Cheney's physical appearance, in addition to Clinton's. The other Trumpers on this thread stop at moran. You continue on to sexist, racist, and probably a few other -ists.
Never, of course, have you explained why Cheney isn't a conservative?
Of course, it's JUST because Donny told you not to like her. Even though she voted with him practically 100% of the time and didn't regularly and strongly turn against him until very late in his term.
So, being the pathetic obedient Trumper that you are, you don't like her.

the decline in oil production we facing happened ***during the Trump administration.***
During the Trump administration.
Production during the Biden Admin has been climbing, but not yet out the hole created in 2020. During the Trump administration.
Of course, that wasn't trump's fault - it was COVID. But the slow bounceback is *also* because of COVID.
That's how the free market works, Gary. Maybe you'd prefer the government owning oil production so we aren't slave to the profit motive.
If someone believes climate change is a hoax, how can you have a conversation with that person about energy policy? It’s like trying to talk to my dog about NBA basketball.

Fracking is more expensive than the other methods.
Why do you start talking before you've taken even 30 seconds to make sure what you're saying is true??
Technology has improved and shale is much cheaper than it was in 2015. It's still not as cheap as offshore drilling.
Where's the evidence? And why would the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers show up to Capitol unarmed if the plan was to storm it and kill the VP inside the Capitol even though they had no way of knowing where he would be on 1/6...
They didn't show up unarmed. And the heavy weapons were stashed in a hotel room across the river.
What did they do? Forget to bring them to the “insurrection”? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I bet the guy who was in charge of that got a lot of heat from the other “insurrectionists.” All he brought was a bear costume and a hat from the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloe. 😂😂😂😂
Hope they at least put a “do not disturb” sign on the doorknob. Hate for the maid to steal their “heavy weapons.”
Which one of those tweets is "pre-meditated crime"?
During the riot, instead of calling for peace, Trump called for Pence's head.
While Trump knew the rioters were inside the capitol and headed for Pence, Trump tweeted:
“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Impressive.
^ The moron says without even a hint of shame when idiots like him called Trump orange for years...
I don't like Liz Cheney because she's a liar and fraud who let her TDS get the best of her.
Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney defended her amplification of an anonymously-sourced story claiming that Russia paid Taliban soldiers to kill Americans.

my bad - you are correct that shale is more expensive than other means of production. Good stuff.
but it still doesn't mean shale will save the day or that it's practical for the US to produce 100% of its oil needs.
A gas car has thousands of moving parts that can break down. A Tesla has about 17.
You need a lot more fingers with a gas car.
If Tesla is the 2nd worst car maker in terms of reliability, and only has 17 moving parts, then that is really good because you only need all 10 fingers and thumbs and 7 toes to plug all the leaks.
If someone believes climate change is a hoax, how can you have a conversation with that person about energy policy? It’s like trying to talk to my dog about NBA basketball.
The people who are most passionate about climate change all seem to know the least about it. It's a political movement not a scientific movement.
Show me a climate model that isn't complete trash and we'll talk about whether or not global warming is a problem. Let alone a man made problem.
You voted for a guy with more draft deferments than Trump has.
If you were more intelligent you'd pick a different hill to die on.
My question for all of the Democrats that love the Biden's so much yet hate the Trump's. The question is if there was a giant bowl of cocaine and Donald Jr and Hunter Biden are in the same room left alone who is going to fail the drug test?
Gas is higher than Hunter Biden aboard air force one snorting coke off a hookers ass.
