Bit of a data dump here - I'm trying to sort out what is going on out there.
1. The world is rapidly getting worse. Case counts are up 42% from their February low. Deaths are up 8% from March low. Will this cancel the Olympics for good?
2. Brazil is the world's epicenter. Around 15% of new cases are in that country. Very bad there.
3. In the US cases are climbing... but deaths are not. Cases are up 5% from lows, but deaths continue to fall. The hope is that this is the vaccines at play. 25% of Americans have had at least one shot.
4) Vax leader Israel continues to report very good news. Continuing fall in cases and deaths. 60% of ISR have had one shot at least. So vaccines seem to be having the desired effect and nations should go to max vaccine jabstatus.
5) In the US, the worst states in terms of per capita deaths are KY and WV. last 7 days.
6) In the US, the best state in terms of per capita deaths is VA. Last 7 days.
7) The US vax runout has been stalled at 2.5 million per day. For two weeks we've been stalled there. Maybe large deliveries of JNJ will help that.
8) Best vaccine states, per capita
NM
AK
CT
SD
MA
RI
9) worst vaccine states, per capita
GA
AL
TN
TX
MS
you have to think that GQP screaming about how bad the vaccines are has caused much vaccine hesitancy in red states. I mean look at that list of bad states. Trump is a cold blooded murderer. An absolute slaughterer of human beings.
10) Hotspots in the US:
MI
NYC and environs
TX panhandle
Upper plains
