This thread was originally titled, "Incredible development in the $612,000 Transcon Goodge run, currently ongoing" but the new title is more descriptive. The description of the run is here.
Wrong, they are only some of the more notable who got caught. Every major marathon has cheating in the splits, then there are the people too clever to get caught and then there are those who are very suspicious.
Just as I was going to get out of this realm of negativity, here you go…
So let me understand your premise: I say there are a tiny portion of runners who have done bad things compared to the vast majority who have done great things. But your belief is that the majority is cheating in some fashion or at least very suspicious.
Let’s run a little math. If the NYC marathon has 50,000 runners, your belief a majority (min of 25,001 equals majority in case you need help with math) are cheating in some way?
You are so far from wrong. Good day sir!
(In Chandler Bing's voice): Could your thinking BE any more convoluted?
Only you with your topsy-turvy thinking conclude that AOL Lawyer in any way implied that the majority of runners cheat. Is your reading comprehension really that bad, or are you just a blatant gaslighter?
It's your completely bonkers reasoning that makes all of us doubt your integrity and your so-called claims of "believing in the best in people." You're a fool to believe the lies of a couple of sociopathic narcissists like Goodge and Balenger, and we'd be fools to believe in your faith in humanity. By being so gullible and/or irrational, you become an amplifier of the worst in human nature. You are enabling liars and cheats. You are part of the problem.

Seldom have I encountered such an idiotic individual so convinced they have something useful to say.
I shall remain an unabashed positive person who believes in the best in people. Be well all!
Until the runner and his team release the full and uncorrupted GPS watch files for independent expert analysis I will remain an unabashed skeptic that this runner completed the run across America as advertised. I nevertheless respect your positive attitude and wish you well on your running journey.

I attempted to end my comments on here with a little positivity, but AOL Lawyer decided to douse it with poison implying that ever major has cheaters. So I decided to be just as absurd with my majority comment. I guess your intelligence level is not high enough to understand sarcasm.
You can doubt me all you want. I’m not the problem. Pessimistic thoughts of people are you are the poison to society. oh, not gullible and definitely not irrational. Peace out!

You misread "marathon major" to mean "majority" and then instead of admitting it, you made a pathetic claim to being sarcastic.
Also, your hero Goodge is a proven liar now for claiming a record he's well aware he has not broken. Do you still believe a proven liar would run all the way if he could cheat?
Runners in unity here on this forum and across the world know that this "Transcon" is a fraud but I don't like this over-hate on Recruiter he is clearly an honest man I believe definitely duped and caught up in the social media storm of "Goodgelovin" but he's not availed enough of statistics to understand the fraud before us which we all see. Recruiter's optimism is champion, but so wrong. HR and pacing stats are now clear. The whoop data too. All wrong. I have applauded WillC for his work but thank you to Poppycock and others too you have helped solve this crime!

Sarcasm? That is a super lame excuse and no one is buying it. You just misread, and are now trying to gaslight us AGAIN. The only one lacking in intelligence in this situation is... well... do I really need to say it?
If you're gonna peace out, then PLEASE peace out and don't come back! Your constant flood of BS is really not compatible with your message of faith in humanity.

The only "fraud" in this whole transcon has been Will Cockerell repeatedly faking the data he used to accuse Goodge with. You and Cockerell should zip your lips about "statistics" because neither of you would be able to tell a standard deviation from a deviant.

You try to blast me like that and think I will walk away? I. Don’t. Think. So!
So now I’m stupid for believing what I believe?
You will not shame me, nor stop me from expressing my opinion.
I went back and re-read the message and it is correct. I did misread major as majority, but my comment was still meant as sarcasm because it was so ridiculous.
And, to your dismay, I will not go away. The “peace out” was meant for you and your attitude. Keep saying nasty things and I’ll keep commenting. Sorry, not sorry!

Oh, feel free to prattle on. Although this advice just might apply to you: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."

You’re so smart Poppycock…now there’s stupid comment!
We are all allowed to have our opinions. But, evidently you don’t believe that’s the case. So sorry I don’t believe the way you do. Now, you can continue to attempt to insult me. Or, just perhaps, you can try to say something original. Your choice. I’m good either way.

You still type like a Brit, shill.
And by the way, you didn’t leave because you weren’t changing anyone’s mind… you stopped replying after getting called out as what you are - a shill. Otherwise, why come back? Does it look like anyone has come around after the fraud ‘finished’ his run? Did you think that letting the thread slide for 10 pages would make people forget what happened? The nice thing about a forum is that the record is kept or a while. Everyone will be able to go back and see the absolutely terrible job you did shilling for a fake transcon.
For anyone curious - pages 99-100 is where he stopped posting.

This sums it up perfectly for me. We now know with 100% certainty that Goodge and his crew (and sponsors?) will tell a blatant lie about braking a record they didn't break, just to get more media publicity, and thus boost their careers as influencers. This isn't a small white lie. This is a big huge lie being told to the national UK media.
Why on Earth would anybody believe that he wouldn't have cheated the run, given this fact? He now deserves to be hounded so that this lie be exposed. And full credit given to Lees for his magnificant walk.

Thanks for providing the Lees info, all. Why has no-one contacted these UK newspapers to get them to change their copy?
Also, will be interesting to see if this guy gets on Rich Roll seeing as he seems to like everything he does. Will he address the cheating?
