It was an enjoyable race to watch, however I'm concerned about how Sitonik let up at the end to seemingly allow Farah to go by and win, as if perhaps for whatever reason he knew he had to let Farah win, even though he clearly could have beaten him.
I don't think Sitonik tired at all -- in fact quite the opposite, especially after watching the replay several times. You'll notice that Sitonik had all the momentum and easily passed Farah on the final lap, but realizing he would actually win, he started looking around, put on the brakes on purpose, and tried to make it look as real as possible as Farah passed him.
It may be only may opinion, but did anyone else notice how Sitonik appeared to give the race to Farah when he clearly could have won?
Possible reasons that come to mind include an agreement with Farah's camp or management, with Nike, with Pre, or -- more nefariously -- a monetary payoff agreeing to challenge Farah but not beat him.
It looked to me like Sitonik shut it down and gave the race to Farah for some reason other than being tired or unable to run faster.
All the looking around and his facial expressions, along with how he and Farah interacted after the race, have left me honestly believing that Sitonik let Farah win, for whatever reason.
I'd love to hear from any others who watched the race and feel the same concerns.
