Our meet this weekend is a 5k, for both Men and Women. Geneseo and Nazareth are running as well as some unattached people. If anyone else wants to run unattached, send me an email. The men run at 11 am, women at 11:45.
Geneseo...wow. Ithaca was not running a tempo today. That was their team.
The real story was donohoe from st. lawrence. He put up I think the second fastest course time ever (on a wet slippery course) behind rono last year. Two years ago the Great Ted Turner won in 25:25 (hot and humid). Donahoe took 2nd at states last year and could be up in the lead pack at regionals. You can also add in about 7 geneseo men who ran amazing today.
How did the U. of Rochester/RIT meet turn out?

As was said earlier, the first rain we have experienced at this meet in eight years, and the first lightning delay (one hour today) I have ever experienced in XC!
Thanks to everyone who attended, best wishes for a great season!
RIT took it with 20 points but they ran their entire team while Fredonia and U of R sat out most of their guns.
U of R only ran Stevens and he won it and Fredonia only ran their 2 stud freshmen recruits who ran pretty solid mid-high 27 times on the Genesse Valley Park course.
From what i've seen so far here's my top 10 teams in the atlantic region.
1.Geneseo
2.The College of New Jersey
3.NYU
4.Cortland
5.St. Lawrence
6.UofR
7.Brockport
8.RIT
9.Plattsburgh
10.Oneonta
Watch for Oswego, Rowan, and Fredonia to challenge Oneonta for that 10th spot in the coming weeks.
Based on time comparisons alone, those that ran at Buffalo State and Oswego ran an average of 27.1 seconds faster. I only looked at those who finshed in the top 51 at Oswego and ran at Buffalo State. With the exception Josh Kneer (+31.1) and Billy Holl (+23.7), the other 22 men ran much faster. Julius Wood ran 1:22.7 faster at Oswego.
The results were similar for the women, 19.7 seconds faster than Buffalo State.
But AR, wait. The Buff St course was short wasn't it - or have we put that to rest finally?
How about Cortland's classy move of piling in the vans to go home and not pick up any of their awards. A number of their athletes won tee shirts but their coaching staff couldn't be bothered to stay and pick them up. Big-time Bush League Cortland!!
Once our start times were pushed back one hour by the storm we encountered Coach Moran let me know they (Cortland) had to leave right after the races this afternoon and miss the awards ceremony. Sometimes teams are on tight travel schedules for very good reasons, no disrespect was intended.

I doubt that course was short, you D3 guys don't know enough about Jorge or Weiss..
I guess my wording wasn't exactly clear. The Oswego meet times were faster on average than Buffalo State, for both the men and women.
The UR/RIT/Fredonia meet wasn't anything overly special. Stevens ran away with the race in the last 2 miles and won in 26:10, RIT went 2-7 (26:23-27:26), no spectacular races. UR only ran 6 or 7 guys, and it certainly wasn't all their top guys. Forma didn't run today either... don't know the full story on either of those, so I won't bother relaying what I heard. Nothing spectacular at the meet, nothing particularly unexpected either.
RIT had an nice pack at the meet, if they can move it up a bit I can see them contending for a top 5 spot
NYU opened at Hofstra, running 5k. The Hofstra website only lists DI results, but the NYU site has some info:

Looks like they kept most/all their big guys out of the meet. They say the whole crew will run in NYU's meet next week at VCP.
According to the roster, they're up to 34 guys. I don't know most of these names, but maybe you do:
http://www.nyu.edu/athletics/teams/xc/m/roster
Somebody had said something about a major transfer--do you see one in there? In the alternative, is somebody missing?
I'm guessing that NYU's national ranking might be unaffected, but Geneseo, at least, has to be moving up...
Here's a random question that I've been thinking about...if you personally were starting a cross program and you had to choose...who would you rather have on your team...Jesse Berube or Jared Burdick? I go with Jared Burdick myself but its close.
Berube
NYU will be running more of their top ten guys next week, most likely not everyone. (abdallah wont run, but is fine and training)
The only 2 top ten guys who ran at hofstra were mcgrane and dulong, and both ran it as a tempo, going from around 20th+ to top 10 in the last mile. they had academic commitments and couldnt workout friday.
Dulong is the transfer guy, 4:02/1500, 15:00 5k guy, from umass.
As for their roster, it has everyone who runs 400/800 and up.
NYU didnt run at hofstra
Abdallah
Williams
phillips
mccarthy
schneider
mcgraw
popeson
mcauley
a few of these guys had minor injuries over the summer and our still getting into shape. long way till november.
Very informative. Thanks. I'm gonna assume that Abdallah was one of the injured. Glad to hear he's okay.
Wow. Dulong transferred in as a senior? Does he have another year of eligibility? He's related to Art Dulong, right?
dulong should have 2 years left.
abdallah is training, he told me he might not race till october, his coach is leaving it up to him.

I went to The States; everyone had "F350" trucks we don't have in the UK
So they had a guy with one of his nuts hanging out by a kid at the opening Ceremony.....
Does anyone really want to see any more of Simone Biles? Come on - no one does!
