Ok, nice run for Hull, but it’s a gimmick. Just is. Did she break the wr for 1850m, or 1973m? Yes! Just roll out Kipyegon to a nearby hs track and bye bye wr.
Also, anybody calling out Sedjati for doping, better be saying the same thing about Hull. Public accusations regarding Sedjati while saying nothing about Hull….not going to say it, but we all know what that is all about.
It's not a gimmick lmao. This is an official distance that you will find on the world athletics website, having results dating back to the 1900s atleast for Men. For the Women the 1980s. Hell, even Dibaba held this record once.
Seb Coe was running similar times over 40 years ago. Some of you just need to be educated in the sport. Was Seb clean? Probably not, but why single out today’s winner. He is tremendous.
Who is this "Seb Coe" you speak of? 40 years ago? Same times? Do explain yourself....
Well Seb would probably be running 1:40xx on these tracks in this footwear.
Yeah. This really isn't a bad result for Arop time-wise: 1:42.93 today, his PB is only .08 faster (1:42.85).
The 800 was mired in mediocrity last year. What the hell happened all of a sudden it seems….
The objective take is that athletes take Olympic years more seriously than anything else (since they may only get one legit shot during their prime) and really hone themselves to their highest potential peak. The subjective caveat with this is that the 800m is SO MUCH BETTER nearly out of nowhere than any other year in the past decade-plus it’s hard not to imagine that some mix of shoes and doping is aiding at least some of these performances.

Gimmick. Let her go for the 1500 or 3000 wr if she’s feeling it.
Follow all the action straight from Monaco’s athletics track, as top athletes will compete in one of the last big athletics events before the Paris 2024 Olympics.
