Okay, sure, and American women have won some 10,000m medals in Worlds in the past. You don’t need to run close to a WR to win a medal at a major championship. But how many women running 14:30 or 30:00 are running PRs? What are the splits like for those races? And the weather? You’re comparing on paper, like a 3:49.9 1500m runner watching the men’s final in Rio and saying he would have won if he’d been in it.
