Neither him or his senior brother are listed in the athletic.net roster for NPHS
Anyone know where they transferred to?
Ventura HS
It’s sad to see. I’ve heard multiple stories how most of the parents and kids are not happy with the coach that was hired at Newbury Park. Hence why these top kids left.
All good things come to an end. It reminds me of Arcadia and how dominant they were and with the coaches departure the team went downhill fast.

Newbury Park wouldn’t qualify for NXN this year even if no one transferred out.

Newbury Park used to have hype and personality. Now they are hard to watch.
Is sophomore Dickran planning on transferring out of NPHS any time? I remember seeing in another thread that someone mentioned that he lives far away from NP

Some people thought the hype and personality was hard to watch.
The greatest team in History is very hard to watch for most that can’t produce. Newbury Park rewrote the history books and as a former California resident I got to experience it in person until I moved to the Midwest last year.
Jesuit has a solid squad forming they got some serious depth. A lot of guys under a 11 is solid. Looks like the team is pretty young too so room for growth. Could be a team to watch now that they are in D2
I think D1 is definitely better than D2 this year and looking at how things stack up I think podium is open for a lot of teams in D2 this year. Not say Jesuit is about to go beat Ventura but I think they have a better shot to make some noise this year being in D2 rather than D1. Then again who knows they seem to be young team so I definitely think a more senior led team like Santa Barbra and Granada probably have the edge on them but I would not just drop them from the conversation entirely.

13th in D1 last year, losing top runners, podium in D2 this year? Zero chance sorry.

Both boys and girls varsity NPHS teams are looking to be senior-heavy too
Great Oaks dominance is just nuts… I know they still have a lot of people at their school but still the fact that every year they just roll through woodward is nuts.
Their girls team significantly got worse ever since Soles left.
Their boys team still made NXN last year. This year they have a shot to maybe do it again, but this time, to make it, they have to beat 2 of these teams: Ventura, Dana Hills, San Clemente, and Trabuco Hills. So it will be really hard for them to make it
Ventura is #23 nationally which is very low for them, especially with transfer Sloan (incoming sophomore who ran a 9:37 last spring). Maybe the ranker thought that the new coach could make things worse? San Clemente is #29. Dana Hills is #30. That better be without the transfer. Oakdale is #45

You don't win anything for a pre-season ranking. Take them for what they are, a guess based on the limited information they have. I spend a lot of hours on mine, but it is a just a tool to create a quick reference for the relative strengths of teams. The races will determine the real rankings.
