Needs to think about moving up to the 400🤣 Do the MJ and be a 200/400 specialist...
.....Yes my thoughts exactly, forget the 100m if you trying to be the best athlete she can be and focus on the 200m and 400m. She could be the first American female with the potential to run a sub 48 open 400m in her career.
Without any inside info, I am not sure she can get up to medal contention in the 100. 200 she is right there. The 400 is a total unknown but if you can run close to 49, you are a contender most years.

What the hell are you talking about?
Valerie Brisco-Hooks and Sanya Richard-Ross are two American women who have run 48 in their career.
Outdoor is often a battle of attrition. Runners get worn down by the end of the season. May not have KT's best race, but she blew by Valby and all the weight of expectations and had time to smell the roses. Eased up visibly at the end. I thought Roe ran pretty well. Looked ragged at Regionals but hung tough. Chelanget finished where I thought she would. Nichols wore down. Valby ran well, having the freshest legs.
I looked on the CO site and Wetmore basically said that about Nichols, also that the other 2 ran 10/5 3 times and it was "1 too many races".
Interesting epilogue on the Penn Relays 4x1500 of some weeks ago — all of the UA women on that team achieved AA honors in one event or another at this NCAA Championship. KT is a difference maker, but sometimes, ‘team’ still matters.
Yep. I know they were trying to get Nichols ready to compete at Nationals but she ran two fast 5000s in April and then doubled in the 5000/10000 at the PAC 12 meet, with the 10000 being the fastest time in the NCAA. Add to that stress, fatigue, travel. At some point you wear out.

truth. Vess and Shaw were NC state weak links at the Relays, and didn't show much at NCAAs either. Still woulda expected to see Gregory 'factor' into the 5k in a more apparent way.. like Gear did in the 1500m

I looked this up. Historically the rules for AA status in track and field were as follows as per the USTFCCCA website:
OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD Year(s) Requirements 1942-62 Top three per event 1963-72 Top four per event 1973-81 Unknown 1982-84 Top 12 per event 1985-2005 Top eight per event, to include the top eight U.S.-born finishers 2006-10 Top eight per event, to include the top eight U.S.-born finishers (team must have USTFCCCA membership) 2011-Present Top eight First Team; 9-16 Second Team (team must have USTFCCCA membership)
So that was the rule until 2010. Regardless of finishing order, First team AA status included the top eight US born finishers. The rule was changed to the current rule in 2011.
