Lmao it’s only at $10000. No chance she gets anywhere near 300k
I bet Shelby raises more $$$ than QAnon did 🥶 🤬
interesting that none of the BTC members have donated or at least are willing to have their name out there that they gave money
Someone spent $500 on a joke.. what's funny is the actual name is visible to the fund creator.
Shelby’s Authentic Burritos
$500
23 hrs
And this one
Matt D donated $5
Shelby, When I was in high school, everyday I would go to Chipotle and ask for a double wrapped burrito with extra beans, extra meat, extra rice, extra cheese, and sour cream. For years I felt terrible afterwards, and my doctor told me it was my cholesterol. Stunned to find that I was likely eating uncastrated boar meat in titan sized helpings. THANK YOU for exposing these burrito companies for what they are. I just wish the uncastrated boar meat made me as good at lacrosse as it made you at running. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving and be careful what you eat! Matt

Still, $10,000 in one day already, for very little work. Not bad.
She’s ridic and people are nuts for supporting her. Very few pros liked the post which is heartening.
I just did 4 donations.
The first one was for $5,000 under the name "Rojo LetsRun"
The second one was also for $5k, using the name "Wejo LetsRun"
The third was $200 in the name of "Greg from Edmonton"
The last one was $1 under "THE Jamin" with a note of "would give more but my renewal subscription to Ukrainian Girls Monthly is due the 30th"
Lol. Rojo will now top that with $100,000. Still waiting for all the rich pro Shelby letsrunners to support her with even higher amounts though.

True, but the way these fundraisers usually work, they're active the first day and taper off quickly. I could see this going to $15-20k but not much higher, unless she gets a ton of free publicity on a major outlet.

It doesn't go above $50k. She may not want extra publicity though, using Gofundme for this is in a grey area per their terms of service, and I could see them shutting it down if it gets a lot of publicity.
ONCE again the silence bias from the running media on this is deafening. And it's so ridiculous every single time.
Shelby just created a website "Clear Shelby dot com" where there is nothing on the website that explains the positive on the A and B sample and filled it with junk editorials and no real actionable evidence. She also spoke very carefully about the nandrolone:
"Shelby and her team don’t know with 100% certainty where this trace amount of Nandrolone came from. The only thing they know for certain is that she did not take it intentionally."
So she could have taken it by accident then, we're not ruling that out? Taken it when taking something else? I don't like that sentence one bit.
If that website isn't enough she started a Go Fund Me for 300K.
She never specifies if Nike or BTC is still paying her
She never specifies if she is going to get a job
She never specifies why that amount is what she needs
and she's straight up grifting for money from gullible people.
Where is the running media???
I'm so tired of this....
Clean Sport Collective:--replying to a couple of outraged tweets with meek disapproval is not enough and once again, you would NOT act this way had it been Galen or Sifan or Ruth Jebet or anyone else. Why does Shelby get so much rope from all of you?
David Melly, Erin Strout, Lindsay Crouse, Alison Wade, Lauren Fleshman, Citius--we see all the moxie and the boldness when it comes to runners and coaches you don't know who are either caught cheating or you think are cheating. Sending out your fiery takes and tweets when it's someone you don't like or know personally or root for is easy to do. But absolute SILENCE when it comes to this dumpster fire? Again if this were another athlete, you would be all over it and it's so tiresome for all of you to just turn away and act like it didn't happen.
I also want to add that I actually don't think Shelby is a bad person or even a sociopath. I don't know her, and literally everyone who knows her well seems to vouch for her character which says something significant.
I believe (not with 100% certainty) she intentionally cheated. And I do think that regardless of whether she cheated or it was an accident--she knows where the nandrolone actually came from, and now she is choosing to lie about it. And that was a bad decision her part and does reveal some weakness in her character.
The thing that she should do is accept punishment, apologize to those who she stole prize money, accolades, and places on teams from, move forward, and find another place in the world because she really can't go back to this one--least not for another four years. There is plenty she could still do. Instead she is doing this.
Great point. The running media for the most part has been silent and that is disappointing.
I can only guess that it is out of fear of losing access to the other BTC athletes and/or some kind of fear of Nike.
Up until very recently, BTC were the darlings of USA distance running. They were the good guys, the hard-work-in-silence, fun-loving answer to NOPs miserable, soulless approach to running and racing.
Things have certainly changed. The strange time-trial meets during covid were suspicious and off-putting to many. The new talent lacked personality. Colleen Quigley left on strange terms and then burrito Gate happened. BTC performed well at the trials but spent too much time post-race interviews defending Shelby. The team Olympic experience outside of Frerichs was largely underwhelming and now they are becoming a Canadian farm team and will soon lose some more of the original personalities that made the team so great.
However, they are still popular and will likely keep securing WC and Olympic team spots. If Lindsay Crouse or Erin Strout were to go poking around asking the wrong questions, they would lose access and sever relationships.

This looks like you choosing to believe some things and then faulting her for your choices, revealing your character.
Well she did get banned for four years for roiding. That she cheated, is a lot more than just a belief.
The owners of this site who are adamant about her innocence should put their money where their mouth is

This is the problem with journalism in any niche area. In order to put out regular issues with "exclusive" content they have to be careful not to bite the hand that feeds them. In automotive journalism car manufacturers would rank the journalists based on their reviews. If you were company friendly you got to review the super deluxe sports models, if somewhat friendly, the mid range models, if you were in their naughty list, the basic models, if you were hostile you didn't get an invite. I'm pretty sure if an running media came down heavily on this fund raising scheme they would be blacklisted.
The running media will only cover this stuff once it breaks in the main stream media. Even then it will be covered in a Gaultesque style.
I tend to be a pretty forgiving person and want folks to be given every possible opportunity to clear their name. I enjoyed following Houlihan's career and was sympathetic to her cause initially.
However, after seeing all the evidence and especially after reading the excellent scientific analysis several well-respected sport scientists issued, it's clear to anyone with critical thinking skills or uses Occam's razor that she doped. It's by far the most reasonable explanation to what happened, and Houlihan's team was not able to produce any legitimate evidence to contradict what the test results showed. The burrito defense was, let's face it, embarrassing.
I read the information on her website and now I'm embarrassed for Houlihan on a completely new level. Creating a website called "clear Shelby"? Are you kidding me? A $300K Gofundme ask? Are you serious? Whatever shred of dignity and credibility Houlihan had were completely vaporized by this move. Shelby, take the L and move on with your life. Continuing to fight it like this is pathetic and is going to turn any remaining fans against you.
