I knew GDP growth would be strong in 2021 (as it was in late 2020) the minute the phase 3 trials of the pfizer vaccine were released. Didn't matter who was president.
It's fairly short-sighted for you to be crediting Joe with the economy given we may very well be in a recession soon. If we have weak growth (as currently forecasted) or a recession in the next 1-3 years how are you going to explain all that? Does Joenomics not work in 2022?
if a m'aga president had been in the WH during a year of 6% GDP growth the entire right wing political and media infrastructure would have been claiming that that president was a near god. but it was a democrat who did it, so it's 'eh it was inevitable.' You know this to be true.
the truth is in the middle. the basic Dem principle of giving money to people who need it...is the right one. The Rs would have jsut given more money to rich people again, which is less effective.
as for 2022...we'll see. There are a few small signs of slowdown but nothing major. The Fed thinks 2Q growth will come in at 2.5% annualized, which is fine. The Fed actually has seen growth strenghtening the last few weeks. The consumer is certainly roaring, and that suggests no recession.
If I were trying to be partisan, I'd be blaming Joe Biden for the negative Q1 growth and weak stock market right now (adjusted for inflation, the S&P500 is now essentially flat since election day). I'm the one trying to be objective here. It doesn't make sense to be bragging about Joenomics so much when it could easily blow up in your face in the next few quarters. We will hopefully avoid recession but the leading indicators aren't good right now (and 2.5% growth is still meh).

well I'd agree I've stuck my neck out there. It's mostly because of the trumpers telling us what a disaster the economy has been under Joe. Which is ridiculous given the core numbers being among the best they've ever been. So I'm trying to apply a counterweight to the misleading info from the trumpers.
If you really want to be objective, you ought to push back against the trumpers too, not just me. Say something good about the economic growth, low unemployment, high corporate profits, collapsing deficit, etc. It's not so hard. And it's true.
yeah, as many people have pointed out, implying that the GOP, the party of Trump's shouting, insults, hatred of the press, open racism, encouragement of violence, insurrection, worship of the fight, etc has anything to do with kindness is absurd.
Ol' Elon is falling under the command of money and power. It is crushing him. He has way too much of both and it has messed with his mind. He's making terrible decisions and because he has $100 billion, he will do some real damage to the body politic. I'm fine with billionaires until they start to be political. Esp when they start their own media projects. Then things go awry.

There's a ton of nonsense here yeah. But I don't even respond to 90% of the left-leaning stuff I disagree with either. Most of the time it doesn't matter because only partisans "believe" the ridiculous arguments anyways. Btw... high corporate profits? Isn't your party trying to say that's a bad thing right now?

sure would be good to have someone with your command of the facts shooting down lies and laying down some truth no matter who it offends. But if that's not what you want to do, that's not what you want to do.
high corporate profits bad? you mean taking advantage of inflation and raising prices? that's a few loud people on twitter saying that, right? One of the long fantasies the right holds very dear is that the Democrats are not really capitalists and that they want to squash business. !Socialism! It's so tiresome. But sure, there are a few anti-business voices in the Dem party. Making them representative of the Democratic Party is just silly.

Yes. He needs to stick to the things he knows about. Physics, technology, business.
I do think Elon's heart is in the right place. He doesn't like the far right and he's still a big fan of Obama.
As far as starting his own media project, what I've heard lately about his plans actually shows he has some good ideas. I don't share the concerns of people who say he's going to become another Rupert Murdoch who is out to shape the narrative. He's really trying to solve the problems that plague our democracy today.
But politics is not a problem you can solve with code.

the problem is that absolute power corrupts absolutely. his judgment is impaired by his wealth and instant feedback from twitter fans.
and
I'm sure you've seen these stories that he is facing an imminent serious fraud accusation from the Feds. Musk will now try to frame it as the Dems getting back at him for becoming a Republican. Which right wing media and the Russians will amplify massively to split apart the nation even more.

A friend of mine rode in my Model Y over the weekend. Now he's ordering one for himself.
I'll stick with my 2030 prediction, but it could easily happen before that. The only constraint is how fast they can make EVs.
Learn to read. In California, Tesla has the top 2 vehicles for Q1 2022.

Even in the craziest leftist state less than 30% of the cars sold are EVs and you think this means 100% of cars in Nebraska will be EVs in 8 years. LOL!!!
More Republican sabotage of the US. They really hate this place. Maybe they should just leave.
1/ We could have had all the Iranian oil we wanted, and Iran would have gone off the path to a nuke. Instead we have zero of their oil AND they are on the path to a nuke. Great job, 'conservatives.' You nailed this one.
Iran's crude exports to China have fallen sharply since the start of the Ukraine war as Beijing favoured heavily discounted Russian barrels, leaving almost 40 million barrels of Iranian oil stored on tankers at sea in Asia and seeking buyers.
2/ We could have imported baby formula from Canada to make up for the shortage. Instead, we can't because of m'aga trade wars. And now 192 GOP members of congress voted against spending money to bring in some baby formula on an emergency basis. it passed because Dems actually try to take care of Americans, but Rs...just not that big on feeding American babies. Not a priority. better to yell about transgenders.
The bill, known as the Infant Formula Supplemental Appropriations Act, passed 231 to 192 in a vote mostly along party lines. All House Democrats supported the legislation, along with 12 Republicans who bucked their party leadership to support it. Four Republicans and one Democrat did not vote.

We could have all the AMERICAN oil we want but you unhinged leftist clowns think 3rd world terrorists with 1950s technology will do a better job for the environment than modern American companies.
Stop pretending you give a damn about America. If you could get 100 million babies to die and be guaranteed the Republicans would take the blame you'd sign up for it in a second you lying POS.

Whaddyaknow... 3 seconds on Google and it's obvious you're lying about the 192 Republicans...
Giving millions of dollars to the FDA doesn't help ANYONE but the FDA and corrupt trash that get to steal some of the money.
Government CAUSES problems. It doesn't solve them.
