This thread was originally titled, "Incredible development in the $612,000 Transcon Goodge run, currently ongoing" but the new title is more descriptive. The description of the run is here.
WC - i dont think he'll even bother with HR for his last day. Just as a last FU. Everyone seen him running and nobody can say he wasnt so why the need for HR? We all know the real reason is because it'll be further evidence for us.
Check out Balenger's last 5 days of Transcon [not his last day [30k], that was perfectly fine at 130]:
102 97 104 100 105
Now check out Goodge's last 5 days at Jogle:
107 108 98 109 117
As you can see, nigh on identical.
It’s just utterly hilarious that they both exhibit the exact pattern and it’s seemingly being waved off by both them and their defenders, as if it’s unremarkable. You can’t call it a quirk (as I was suggesting it could be for at least the first 40 pages of this thread) of the way they conduct operations - which is where the vestiges of the benefit of a doubt I wanted to grant Will, swelled by complete incredulity, led to me defending him past the point you first pointed this out - because they can both CONSISTENTLY produce a ‘human pulse’ when pressed. And, notably, the performances seem to decline at those periods too.
One of the saddest things for me about this situation is finding out what the person who claims to be Pete Kostelnick is like. I still cling to the hope that it is a troll pretending to be him.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I have no idea what Pete's like as a person, but he sure as hell seems to be the completely genuine article in his running, and his record Trans-con (which I joined for a few miles on his last day) appeared to be as real as it gets.
How the hell does a guy like that end up supporting an obvious, transparent scumbag fraud like Goodge?? (And even insulting and trashing and trying to discredit the folks who are admirably trying to expose him.)
And I had no idea Pete was best pals with Goodge's scumbag partner (who's a completely obvious co-conspirator in this massive fraud), but, again, how the hell does someone who does what Pete has done end up best pals with (and on-line defender of) a piece of sh*t like that --who's trashing and despoiling and making a mockery of the sport and endeavor Pete seems to love so much and be so passionate about??
Wouldn't you think Goodge and his pal B, and the massive fraud they're perpetrating, would be absolute *anathema* to someone like Pete??
It's seriously beyond me. I'd love to hear any theories.
Excellent post. It is stunning. As they say, you’ll be known by the company you keep. Can’t believe he wants to be known as a supporter of these grifters.
Look for tomorrow’s run to be very different. You will not see the heart rate variations. It will likely look just like day #1.
He will need to do the last day clean because he has invited others and of course cameras will be rolling all day. Just like day 1
Agreed. I expect it to be one of the very few clean days on this journey.
+1
Where are they finishing? Only 40 miles to the Atlantic, so an easy day, lots of walking, photos with supporters, human pulse will be quite low for that.
Today is the last day of Team WG's crossing. I've tried to bring some perspective to the journey without being judgmental. Everyone experience with this journey is different. Here is the story of my last day "on the road" in 2021 from my journal.
Day 112 (July 12, 2021) If you've been reading along since the beginning, you've read approximately 100 typed pages of our story. Over 65,000 words. That's a lot. I could write another 65,000 words about day 112, our last day. Even a year later I can remember it like it was yesterday. In many ways it was - it has taken months for our lives to return to "normal". We are back into a good routine. I'm back doing big things. We are all happy and healthy. Writing about the journey has given us time to reflect and talk and laugh and sometimes cry. Maybe someday we'll head back out there. Maybe we won't. These aren't the thoughts we agonize over either way. According to a recent article in USA Today there are fewer than 400 documented runs/walks across the US in history. When I was at the barber in Virginia Beach after I finished, he told me he had cut the hair of athletes, celebrities and even astronauts but that I was the first US Crosser that had been in his chair. It is a small group and we feel fortunate to have finished. Here's the story of the last day: We didn't start early - there was no reason to. Dogs weren't allowed on the beach until the evening - even at the dog beach. So, we took time getting started. I took pictures of a lot of things this day. I wanted to remember it. I took pictures of my beard and hair. My feet and some gear. I carried 3 items every step of the way. A postcard from John Sharp that for us signified adventure. A photo of Kim McCoy, a friend who survived being hit by a car while on a journey run - she has continued to thrive - she was a guardian angel for us. A coin from Jimmy Sauter that said fate amori or love of fate. It signified that there was a higher power looking out for us. We finally were on our way and Melissa dropped me off about 8:45 am. Plan was to meet her and the pups at Salty Paws, a dog ice cream shop a block from the ocean, later that afternoon. My day was easy. Two miles north into Norfolk, turn right and then walk until I hit ocean. I made a couple of stops at a small restaurant where I ate some pastries and drank some espresso. I stopped later at a Starbucks and was joined by Melissa and the pups. They were supposed to be at the hotel but surprise surprise - the original hotel wasn't going to work so we rebooked at the Hilton. It wasn't on the dog beach so we'd need to figure something out. After months of this type of seat of our pants planning, we knew we'd figure it out. About 3.5 miles from the water I saw Running Etc, a running store that sponsors John Price and has for years. i went in to introduce myself. They took some pictures and posted the story on their social media. About a mile from the beach I hit road construction. No big deal. I could take my time. A half mile from the ocean I started filming for Facebook Live. If you saw the video you'll know the next ten minutes we're pretty comical. I couldn't find salty paws so I decided to take a peek at the water. A hundred yards past salty paws Melissa peeked her head out and instructed me to "hurry up - the dogs are waiting for you so they can eat there ice cream". I stopped about 100 yards from the water and turned around and went back to the dog ice cream shop. That's when I stopped filming. We sat in the shop and the dogs enjoyed their treat. Melissa and I decided to meet at the hotel and then we'd check in and then walk to the beach. When we got to the Hilton is was a melee. There were dozens of people waiting in line to check in but no rooms were ready. They told us room would be ready in an hour or so. So, we said screw it and headed toward the water to wrap up. We walked some down the walkway next to the ocean. It was blazing hot and Melissa and the dogs had had enough. Once again - screw it, we started walking toward the water. No dogs allowed but we did not care. Melissa started filming. I grabbed the dogs and we headed toward the ocean. You can hear the excitement in Melissa's voice as we get to the water. We all step in - I stop the watch - it's done. Just like that. 112 days and 3032 miles later we had crossed the US on foot. It was hot and we were tired so we headed back towards the hotel. Some people told us dogs weren't allowed. We didn't care. We didn't stop to explain ourselves. We just left. Back at the hotel we waited another hour or so to get into the room. It was comical really. We got to the room and there was a package from my Dad and Grandma Jo. Finisher Jackets for us and Towels for the dogs. Jason Lester sent us a gift basket of cheesecake and chocolate. He told me to eat as much as I wanted. I earned it. Once we were cleaned up I took the dogs on a walk and Melissa went to get dinner. We ate in the room and went to bed about the normal time. We did not set an alarm tonight. It wasn't necessary. We were done.

Not to be a nitpicker. But isn't the goal of a transcon to go coast to coast? He (or I should say the tracker) is on the move this morning but his end target appears to be Central park on the map.

ffs, cant he get anything right?
It’s because he doesn’t care about going coast to coast. He doesn’t care about the sport at all. He doesn’t respect the sport’s history, its traditions, its legends, its records, its standards, or its fans. He just sees it as a way to make money and gain attention for himself.
He had a bit of an advertisement for people come out and to run with him into NY yesterday on Strava. Now it appears to be gone. Has he chosen to go incognito on this final leg?
I'm kind of glad that Sneakers has given up his quasi-reasonable tone and has gone full on batty and hostile. We've got under his skin enough to make him drop his pretense of being impartial, and now we see him for the super-shill that he truly is. He'll obviously keep posting, as any cornered dog will continue to snarl, even if it's about to be captured and put down. But it's so painfully obvious that all that he can produce is bluster and weak insults. For a self-proclaimed genius, he has the argumentative skills of third-grader.
Yeah, when I followed one of his links I went back to near the beginning of the thread, and I'd forgotten that Sneakers actually sounded fairly reasonable at first, before he started losing his sh*t and behaving like a moron.
If he really was unconnected with the crew in any way why would he have started getting so angry and abusive? He is clearly rattled and sh*tting his pants.
It was when he suddenly out of the blue had a dig at 'woke runners like Kara Goucher', that I first thought, 'actually, this guy seems like a bit of a idiot'. I still don't know what Kara Goucher has to do with this Transcon!
Yes, just like Goodge and his crew, Sneakers has been outed as a fraud and has been reduced to throwing metaphorical rocks. He'd lashing out, but he was declawed long ago. He's desperate, irrational, angry, and just not very bright. Pathetic.
the tracker is in Ft Lee Historic park at the foot of the George Washington bridge. There are about 4 pings from there so it has likely been sitting there for a while. It might not budge again and eventually get turned off. Maybe it is sitting in the camper and they don't want to drive the camper into the traffic.
How hard would it have been to put the tracker on the freeking runner on this final day? I am convinced this crew simply does not care about the sport of running at all. This is all about video production and selling stuff and taking in money. Watch for a hollywood type video of the entire crew running through Manhattan like they have all won Olympic Gold.
Well what do you know? The tracker has moved onto the island. Maybe on the last day they figured out it would not be too heavy to put on the runner. Or maybe the NuCalm caravan is all heading into Manhattan traffic. Maybe they requested street shut downs and a police escort. After all, this is the highest mileage f**king runner on strava! He is a huge deal.
The official governing body of US Transcon has made a ruling. There is good news and bad news for Goodge. The good news is that they will recognize the run as an official run. The bad news is that they are demanding that the crew drive back to New Mexico and run those 3 miles that they skipped. They will not accept an additional 3 miles in NY to cover the omission.
We will have to wait for confirmation from Strava. But we are hearing on social media that Goodge went sub 15 in the final 5K. He also set new PB in the city in the 10K as well. All below a 115 heart rate!
It's seriously beyond me. I'd love to hear any theories.
My theory is that you Cockerell shills are bitter old men who can't get the ladies like Goodge can and thus want to tear him down by faking numbers and fabricating "evidence" like Cockerell has done all along.

Like Jesus Christ and your high school coaches, I came to the realization that there is no hope for you Cockerell shills. My intelligence was being wasted on you Lord of the Flies.
