Interesting look at the top and bottom 5 states in terms of residents vaccinated and the 14-day change in Cases, Deaths, Hospitalizations.
States with Highest % of Residents Vaccinated
(14-day change in Cases, Deaths, Hospitalizations).
NM: -12%, -5%, -14%
AK: -12%, +14%, +31%
SD: +17%, -15%, -24%
CT: +38%, -28%, -4%
ME: +13%, +29%, +5%
States with Lowest % of Residents Vaccinated
(14-day change in Cases, Deaths, Hospitalizations).
GA: -24%, -50%, -32%
AL: -32%, -38%, -28%
TN: +17%, -15%, -24%
UT: -12%, -5%, -14%
MS: -23%, 58%, -22%
Only one of the states with the lowest vaccination rate is seeing an increase in cases over the last 2 weeks while 3 of the best states are. Two of the best states are seeing rises in both deaths and hospitalizations while none of the poorly vaccinated states are.
There could be several reasons for this (relaxed restrictions, less adherence to guidelines, geography, etc.).
