What's suggested. If Russian committed war crimes, they can only be to blame for all war crimes? We have seen both sides commit war crimes, so that logic doesn't play out.
Anyway, it's not proof.
It's inference.
And makes sense.
It suggests motive to for Russians to curtail, not increase, activity harming civilians.
If you a cop is tailing you, you don't speed and check text messages.
If this isn't plain, you're not thinking objectively or rationally.
It really doesn't make sense, unless you filter everything through the lense of conspiratorial, magical thinking.
- Russia and Putin have a long history of using overwhelming force and terror against civilians to break the resistance.
- There is no cop in this scenario. Russia is the only actor that can forcibly stop Russia.
- Nothing in Putin's decisions indicate he cares at all about world opinion.
- Ukraine doesn't need to do anything to get the support of the west. A false flag attack would be insanely risky with very little reward.
- The Kremlin has been caught trying to manufacture Ukrainian "false flags" since before they invaded.

Your suggest motive for Russian backing off doesn't work, because there is no cop that Russia fears at this point. If they were really worried, they would have backed off before. But it appears that they will continue to deny and deflect while doing what they want to do and deal with any consequences later. To avoid war crimes trials the likely suspects only need to stay in Russia for the rest of their days, vacation in China, or travel on a false passport.
If the intent of "For Children" on the side of a missile is meant to convey it's a revenge response for loss of Russian children, it still makes no sense.
Russians haven't lost children due to Ukraine attacks.
It's an old Soviet expression and not meant to be taken literally.
Not being Russian, that nuance escaped me.
I did find this in a CBS news article. It may draw from, or be, the source for what was noted. Never heard of missile debris referred to as a "carcass" before.
The missile carcass had the phrase "for children" written in Russian on its side. The specific Russian phrase has a meaning closer to "on behalf of children" or "in retaliation for an attack on children," rather than "aimed at children."

If Russia is unconcerned with sanctions, why do Western nations keep applying them?
Why does the Ukraine keep pounding the table for more sanctions and more severe sanctions?
It makes no sense to risk billions in additional financial loss to kill a few civilians.
What does make sense is for the Ukraine to conduct a false flag to provide reason or excuse for military intervention, supply of more arms and money, and other measures to weaken and pressure the Russian side.
Sure enough, even while Western nations are drafting punitive new sanctions, Ukraine is using the train station attack to demand more action. A few new headlines:
"Ukraine demands tough global response to train station missile strike"
"Ukraine president calls for more Russia sanctions, invokes Greek battle cry"
"Ukraine demands 'firm global response' against Russia for deadly train station strike"
"Ukraine Wants 'Truly Painful,' 'Ruinous' Sanctions Against Russia"

Apples and oranges. The sanctions are going to be applied anyway, and Ukraine will continuously ask for more. Given the road Russian has gone down and the carnage they have left in their wake, that sanctions won't go away and more will come. Russia isn't going to change their behavior in Ukraine based on sanctions, or because the West and others now hold them in contempt. But sanctions still will punish Russia by hurting their economy, and might hasten the retirement, voluntary or involuntary, of Putin.

Uh, low morale, barely trained, humiliated, and frantically retreating Russian soldiers are probably not weighing Russia's geopolitical interests when they headshot a granny in the streets.
Russia has shown the world how cold blooded these people are and how bad they are at fighting. Do they totally suck or what what a joke. A deranged thug in charge of weaklings best suited to battle women and children, wow!
I can't imagine how dumb someone must be to think that Ukraine would need to kill 50 more of its own citizens in a city in its far eastern areas when there are already hundreds and hundreds of dead citizens killed by Russian missiles and executed by Russian bullets within a few miles of its capital. Ukraine doesn't need a ballistic missile to generate outrage. All it needs is a shovel to dig the bodies out of the next apartment building or mass grave. People shouting "false flag" in the face of massive evidence, in Bucha or in Kramatorsk, are awful human beings who deserve only ridicule.

You probably the most dumb as Ukraine used those missiles all the time in the last 7 weeks killing civilians where they could like in Donetsk. But western media chose to ignore that. And another one where Russia had nothing to gain
It's probably hard to believe to some but Ukraine doesn't care about it's civilians at all or say better they want them killed. More civilians dead better as more weapons and more sanctions against Russia.

I have never been more disgusted in my life. There is a video on Twitter of a Russian soldier proudly raping toddlers. Don't click on it. If they broadcast that, imagine what they do off camera. This is not a military operation. It is genocide by a Mobbed up brutal corrupt dictator with an army that has the exact same traits. Putin simps on this board need to take a hard look at themselves and ask if they want to keep doing what they are doing on this message board for kicks and grins.

You actually believe that?
I have a hard time believing this story but who knows. The Russian soldiers are soulless animals.
You believe that the Ukraine shot a missile at themselves which is ridiculous. As of they need more proof for the world.

You say it makes no sense for Russia to risk billions in additional financial losses to kill a few civilians. But, look at it from the other side. It makes even less sense for Ukraine to risk alienating the countries they are dependent on for survival by getting caught launching missiles at their own civilians. If every armchair military expert on the internet knew that Russia no longer used this type of missile, then surely the Ukrainian military did as well. Why then would they use a type of missile that would immediately point back to them?
The logical contortions that some people insist on to blame Ukraine at every opportunitiy and exonerate Russia are truly astounding.

It's probably hard for you to understand (on account of not being very intelligent), but the Ukrainian government clearly cares about its civilians. That's why they're fighting so hard to keep them from being under the control of an autocratic psychopath like Putin. This may be news to you, but most people realize that Russia is an insignificant, third-world nobody that the Ukrainians want nothing to do with. The best thing the Ukrainian government can do for its civilians is to keep them from being subjected to anything Russian.
Remember, Russia is the country that sent its best and brightest soldiers to dig trenches in the Red Forest. Talk about not caring about your people. #RussianNuclearWeapons #TheyGlowLikeChristmasTrees

You actually believe that?
You actually believe everything you read on the Internet so why shouldn't he?
"The racist occupiers must bear the strictest responsibility!" said Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Lyudmila Denisova, of Russian soldiers.
It's hard to believe how stupid these trolls are or take us to be. "After launching bombs and missiles at Ukrainian civilians for 44 days, what possible reason would Russians have for killing more Ukrainian civilians on day 45? Logically it must have been the Ukrainians!!!"
