Aw, what a shame. Bumbalough should have saved his energy for the final! But hey, while he is watching the Olympics on television, he can say that he "defeated" Rupp in a 5k! LoL!!!
Which is true.

He can run beer mile at midnight with his lads and then pantomime how he "beat" Rupp at the Olympic Trials.
The latest word coming from Eugene is that Kim Conley has graciously volunteered to give Bumbalough some lessons about how to lean when it really counts, instead of wasting energy in a childish attempt to upstage a superior runner during the prelims.
Unfortunately, these training sessions will need to wait until mid-August. Unlike Andrew, Kim has a rather busy schedule through mid-August! I'm sure that he will thoroughly enjoy occupying his time by "pwning n00bs" in Call of Duty or Halo until then. LoL!!!

I hope this means he's in sub-13:05 shape, because otherwise that 1:53 half had just drained his tank.
He's not, and it did. What is that old saying about payback?
Have a nice summer, young Bumbalough. Four years from now at the Rio Olympic Trials, you will be 29-years-old. That's a prime age for distance runners, and more importantly, I trust that you will have evolved past the immature, unprofessional antics that you displayed in Eugene this week.
Is everyone really this uptight and judgmental in real life? No wonder rack is considered such a p*ssy sport. Rupp is awkward but possibly the best us born runner ever. Of course he beat Bumbi. After the heat, bumbalough said that maybe if he had an incredible race he might get third. Not exactly disrespectful. He ran hard and competed, acknowledged competitors and gave his all. Did you want him to just roll over and fawn on Rupp? How do people here not respect that? Grow a pair.
Also, I bet hell be a 13:00 runner before long. The guys still developing.

Another old saying: "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen." People need to live with the consequences of their behavior, including national-class distance runners in the public eye.
I'm sorry, but we have already discussed this at great length. Bumbalough's childish little lean at the tape was unprofessional, at best. He was essentially trolling live and in-person! There was absolutely no reason to do that. Both of them had broken away from the rest of the field and last time I checked, there aren't any advantageous lanes bestowed upon 5,000m runners who win their heat.
You act as i there was some sort of agreement reached. I'm only aware that youve asserted your puss opinion repetitively.

Reading is fundamental, my young friend. Several people in this discussion have expressed similar opinions.

I'll try to avoid losing too much sleep over that! I'm sure that insults like that are thought to be very "1337" on Facebook and Xbox Live, but they simply make you sound like an immature jerk... just like Mr. Bumbalough.
Wait people are seriously upset that he leaned? You think it was childish and immature?
God damn you are all idiots. Lighten the eff up. Its not like he got up in Galen's face about it, just ran his race. Of course he didnt have a real shot at beating Rupp in the final, but that doesn't mean he has to show him deference in the prelims.
Maybe Bumbalough should work on beating Ben True before he worries about head games w/Galen Rupp.
Bamby is going to have a great next year. On the track not a single guy in that field could touch him, even at their best.
Sub 13? Maybe, Sub 13:10 definitely.
Ummmm....ever heard of Alan Webb?

Sub 13? You my friend must be joking.

Beat me to it! With his impressive leaning skills, I thought Bumbi had this one in the bag. I forgot that his specific talent in that department seems to disappear during the finals! LoL!

I will try to avoid losing too much sleep over that, similar to the way that Rupp handled Bumbi's childish antics at the Olympic Trials.
It's time to grow up.
Still nothing wrong with what Bumbi did. Get on with your life.
