That was utterly moronic from Reekie. She should have breezed through that semi. WTF was she doing going out in 56? It rarely goes well for her when she does that. I'm not sure how she has got it into her head that she's a frontrunner. And I'm not sure what Hutchings was talking about on commentary saying that Reekie normally kicks off that pace, it's like he's never seen her race.
Phoebe Gill is more forgivable. Running in Lane 2 was silly, but she's 17 and it's her first international competition so this is a learning experience for her.
Reekie not making the final was definitely not on my bingo card… tough go for team GB considering if any team was gonna put 3 in the final it was them. I think Akins will make it - which is two in the final for US unless this last heat puts 4 under 1:57.76 which I don’t see happening
Because the winner wins the quarter? Think Tennis slams -- if Federer Nadal Djoko and Murray back in the day had seeds 1-2-3-4, they would each have their own quarter and not be seeded to meet until the semis. So the winner of the quarterfinal match wins that quarter (1 v 8, 2 v 7, etc) and advances to the semi
admittedly I just made that up but it sounded good enough
Would LOVE to see Whittaker in this final. She was a little boxed if she’d gone wide a little earlier I see her with an auto Q. Big upside she runs fearless like a legit pro!
No! This line of thinking bothers me so much. She ran well because she stayed on the rail. In fact, had she stayed on the rail the whole way she would have gotten 2nd.
I feel u but i liked that she took initiative to get there took matters into her own hands and showed that will. On the inside u never know if things will open up and she was quite boxed. Either way hype for her!

Duguma is a poor woman’s version of Moraa. The Brits just dk what to do with the athletes that run the fast slow fast tactics.
