The Div 1 3200m champ will be sub 9:00 if weather is reasonable. He will NOT be any of the names mentioned above - he will be from NEO and he will be an underclassman...just sayin'

My guess is Kimmel is injured as he has not run this whole outdoor season. One runner I am very curious about is Luka Bork. He started his career at St Eds and then transferred to public school, Lakewood. He got 12th in the 2023 state cross as a junior and then has not competed since it looks like. A lot of kids quit, so that could explain it. HOWEVER, earlier this year he announced he is committing to run at Cornell after high school. Anyone know what is up with this kid? Was there a falling out with the Lakewood program? Why not go back to Eds or even transfer to his 3rd school in 3 years??

You have a good point: Hey, whatever happened to . . . ?
Check that, that was the 2022 state meet, and then as you pointed out, he wasn't in the 2023 cross country state meet (his senior year). I did see that he was in the indoor state meet his junior year in March 2023 but he DNFed the 3200m, no appearance in the outdoor state meet last year.
I got him confused with his older brother (?) Evan who was a senior at the 2022 state track and field meet and finished 7th in the 3200m. It looks like Luka will follow this Ivy League model: Evan ran for/is running for Dartmouth.

Dominic Jackson of St X was 2nd in the SW regional in the 800 and is on the St X 4x800 team that has a good chance of winning the state title. This might seem unremarkable but is pretty impressive in light of the fact that he had a major heart surgery about two years ago to correct a rare congenital heart condition. Jackson also ran on St. X's cross country team that placed 4th in the state meet this past fall.

Found the article. That's insane kudos to that kid...looking forward to watching him and all the 4x8's on Friday.
I'm really looking forward to the boys' D1 4x800. It will be one of the best races of the entire meet. The weather at 2:15 tomorrow should also be ideal for fast times with temps in the low to mid 70s and just about no chance of rain. It will be fast but I don't see St. X's 7:36ish record from 2014 going down. I also don't see them equaling Woodridge's D2 record of 7:37.43. They'll be in the low 7:40s to perhaps around 7:39.

Westerville North wins it in 7:39.91. A close one with Mass Jackson 2nd in 7:40.02.

Called it. Y'all want more predictions? Lemme know.
To be fair, that wasn’t all that difficult of a prediction.
Then why didn't you make it? Are you sure you would've called WN after Olentangy beat them at Regionals and Jackson ran 7:44?
I not only called the winner, I predicted sub 7:40.
Let's here your 3200 predictions now. Don't be shy. Or were you just planning on waiting until after the race to say that the results were "easy to predict"?
Boys 4x800 Meter Relay1 - 10 pts Wester. North 7:39.91Michael Dellasanta Gabriel Wise Casey Carlos Ben Gabelman 2 - 8 pts Mass. Jackson 7:40.02Elliot Zuckett...
