Jakob will have his work cut out to end up as decorated an athlete as Mo Farah though. Remember Mo ran 3:28 and was a 4 time Olympic champion and 6 time world champion, plus two World Championship Silvers.
C’mon. Mo ran during a relatively weak sauce period. so he could rack up some wins. Look who Jakob has to deal with, no comparison. Your seriously going to argue that Mo is anywhere near the talent of Jakob or that Jakob will not end up being considered the far superior athlete. It’s not that close now, and it certainly won’t be close at all when Jakob finishes.
You don’t want to go down this road lol. Mo would still be highly competitive today. Even 10+ years ago when every race on the circuit wasn’t a time trial, we still had some 12:40s guys and they couldn’t beat him. I would pick him in a championship over Aregawi, Kiplimo, Kejelcha, and even Cheptegei every single time.

Mo Farah, without superspikes, ran less than one second slower at 1500m than Jakob has so far. The reason you say Mo Farah had weak competition is because he dominated them.
Wake up fanboy. Farah wasn't dominating the 1500 at all. "Superspikes" have done nothing for the 1500. He was 4th and 2nd both times when he went sub 3:29 in superfast races in Monaco.
The reason why I say this is because i'm not a biased fanboy. Farah had no WR-caliber opponent. Some Fisher and Haile Bekele kind of opponent.

I don’t care for Mo Farah or NOP. So shove it kid.
Not sure that was the real Josh Kerr. In the Swiss broadcast, the announcer said that "George" Kerr was pushing on the back straight before JI took off. Does Josh Kerr have a fast sibling or cousin?
No, but he has a cousin that's the son of a famous basketball coach named Steve kerr
Maybe the 5k guys now feel like they're jogging at 12:50s pace because of the shoes or maybe they know that the IAAF will get rid of their event if they run slow like the Mo Farah years, as they tried to do a couple years ago.
Jakob really has to walk a razor's edge to win like this. He has to basically max himself every race to stay ahead of big kickers. The difference from 3:28 to 3:29 is nil. There are enough sub 3:30 guys right now that it just takes one small slip up, like we saw with Wightman
The dude is having a summer of sub330s while putting 10 meter gaps on guys the last 100m and you think his margin of error is thin? He completely in control. Dominance. He will run sub 327 when he goes after a fast one. This is like watching 2010-2012 Rudisha dominating from the front.
come on be honest. 38yo Lagat. Teenager Edris. Isiah who?
Tell me one WR-caliber at his prime he beat? I'm talking about a Kiplimo/Cheptegei/Jakob kind of talent, not some rupp, teenagers and retired legends.
Your argument is silly. It would be like me asking what WR caliber 1500m runner in his prime has Jakob defeated? It is a silly question.
Jakob has defeated Kiplimo, WR holder in the HM, Cheptegei, WR holder in the 5k and 10k, Girma, WR holder in the 3000sc and 3000 indoor, Kejelecha WR holder in the mile indoor and forme WR holder in the 1500 indoor, all in peak shape and at 22years of age. And even Cheryuiot and Katir are better than any of Farah competitors.
I'm still waiting for you to give ONE such example for Mo Farah in his whole career.
I mean Farah was great but he would be just one among others nowadays and would be lucky to have one gold in his record when you see WR holders failing to medal.

This is where intelligence matters, no offense kid. Ask yourself why so many runners are running fast now. There are several reasons. The cream rises to the top. If you are not smart enough to recognize that Mo Farah was the cream and would be the cream today, then I cannot help you. I asked you to name a WR 1500m runner in his prime that Jakob has defeated and you change the subject. My question is as stupid as yours is. There are no WR caliber 1500m runners for Jakob to defeat. According to you this makes Jakob’s achievements at 1500m not impressive. I disagree.
I think we all need to to chill out on Jacob's performance tonight
He ran a 3'28 in the middle of the WC training block.
Dude targeted 2 miles World Best early June to validate the ''volume'' phase of his training. Took the opportunity of the tapper to run a fast 1500m 6 days after and ran 3'27'9.
Then moved on to the training block leading towards WC mid-August.
In the middle of the block he runs a 3'28 in Lausanne, mainly based on strength and current ''freshness''. I'd say it's a monster performance and I can't wait for races to come as we approach WC.
Monaco is 1 month from now (end of July) and just 3 weeks out of world champs.. (heats are on Aug 19th) I can't wait to see what Jacob can produce after 1 month of specific 1500m training and just ahead of the final WC tappering... 3'27 low seems to be a cautious bet if everything goes well during the next 4 weeks...
The strongest contenders were not in this race, but yes it’s a big hill to climb for them. I do think one of Tim, Reynold, Nuguse, Katir will make him sweat in the last 100 of the World final.
Jakob was laboring a bit today it seemed, still in the last 100 he’s a beast. The man not only has freakish physiology, but I think he’s mentally super strong. I know Rojo hates talking about the mental stuff, but I think it matters. Jakob is a winner and to beat him now you literally have to race him into the ground. I’m not sure if the other big talents like Nuguse have developed this absolute toughness yet. Jakob is not going to crack.
Most likely we haven’t seen the best of Jakob this season -to Norwegian media he told that he had been training hard / a lot of miles the last weeks to keep the form / peak down. And that he is planning to let up in a couple of weeks (before Silesia). His “slow time” today was a result of a body full of training (he explained)….
