After Bowling Green’s WNIT victory against Memphis, Tigers guard Jamirah Shutes appears to strike BGSU’s Elissa Brett in the handshake line after the two exc...
If that had happened between mens teams, there would’ve been an instantaneous brawl. In this instance everyone just kinda strolled away looking at each other.
Curious what the crowds will be like in Seattle tonight. Teams competing: Colorado, Iowa, Louisville, Mississippi, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Connecticut. The closest team is Colorado and it is over 1,000 miles away.
I went to a WNBA game once. I had tickets to the Washington Capitals game that night, and it included free seats to the WNBA game prior. So, I thought - "eh, why not." IIRC it was a playoff game for the WNBA team in DC. Because of the Caps tickets, it was announced that it was record attendance. LOL
Criminal charges. She is a 5th year senior so it was her last game ever anyway. Nothing like going into your first job interview post-college and trying to explain an assault charge.
Even a bigger crowd in Seattle today (10,000+) than yesterday.
HVL is from Washington and she has 300+ people from her hometown. So I expect another big crowd tomorrow. But I'm afraid Monday's crowd will be smaller with both UConn and Tennesse out.
LSU gets a win against Utah. Utah girl can win or tie the game on the free throw line. Kim Mulkey tells her players to call time out after the free throws. Utah shoots an airball on the first one and LSU rebounds second one. 2 seconds left and LSU could have killed the clock but they called the timeout with 2 seconds left. Utah free throw shooter goes over crying next to her coach. Rather than coaching the team she is consoling the cry baby. I know some men's teams cry when the season is over but watching this girl cry because she shot an airball free throw is very embarrassing.
Side note LSU coach Kim Mulkey was a senior on Hammond High School State Championship team . I was student teaching and an assistant coach there for my assignment class at SLU.
The Monday crowd was smaller, but 8000+ people still showed for VT and OSU. The four day total (40631) was actually bigger than the total in Greenville. (40063). Greenville had 12879 and 11144 on the days South Caroline played, but the other two days had 8592 and 7988. Seattle had 9626, 10839, 11700 and 8466. And in Seattle, another 3000 showed up for the WNIT game on UW campus on Sunday.
The 2023 NCAA Women’s Tournament continues to deliver impressive audiences for ESPN’s networks. On Tuesday, ESPN announced that the eight Sweet 16 games on Friday and Saturday averaged a record 1.2 million viewers. The round...

Looks like a lot of Iowa fans travelled to Seattle. Climate Pledge Arena looked like "Carver West."
I really hope they all got there in a carbon neutral way.
