Fisher will eventually be the undisputed best American distance runner of all time. The work continues and he continues to make great progress. Just needs to stay away from the rail and collect some medals.
Yes, he is on the path.
From the winner: 2:28.9, 2:29.7, 2:28.3. Perfection. Up front Aregawi: 2:26.6, 2:28, 2:32.2. Krop and Lobalu died even harder.
I think Aregawi has a 7:24 in him with better pacing and more company perhaps. He tried to run 7:22 and paid at the finish with a 2:02.5 last 800m.
Duh. What did you think the light would be set to?
The light is NOT always set at record pace. Sometimes they set the light slower, expecting the runner to have a kick at the end. Sometimes they set the light faster. It's negotiated between the meet and whichever runner is going for the record.
No. Because Arop was a hired pacer so his strategy was what he was paid to do. However, he DID say that after his pacing duties were done he was going to keep on going and that is what he did.
US Women have been stepping up this year. Hope they're gearing up to step up to the next level for 2023. 10.8 is starting to be normal for US sprinters, same with 21.9. almost too many 1:57/58 runners to count, plenty of 3:58/59 runners.
In 2022 only 4 women broke 4. Sinclaire, Cranny, MacLean and Elle. Plenty more fresh blood to contribute next year.
Hahahahah - "4-7 seconds over 3000m?!" I legitimately laughed out loud at that. And what evidence do you base that nugget of elite scientific insight off?
