I'm not convinced that Sophia Gorriaran go to college. I wouldn't be surprised if she goes pro right out of high school.
She says she wants to both run track and play lacrosse in college like she does now in HS. Her sister who was a HS All American in lacrosse is a freshman at Penn.
Gorriaran is REALLY into lacrosse. So it makes sense she would want to go to college to play lacrosse. I don't think there is much in the way of post-college lacrosse or pro lacrosse in the US, so in order to play lacrosse post-high school, college is her only option.
Gorriaran's time of 1:25.22 would break the NCAA women's 600m record -- indoor or outdoor. Athing Mu has the indoor collegiate record at 1:25.80 and Wilson-Perteete has the outdoor collegiate record at 1:28.02.
Mu cruises to a 1:22.75. Ok, everybody can take a deep breath and relax. Turns out our greatest middle distance runner of all time is still great! She remains the prohibitive favorite to win in Eugene.
There were a few silly people who couldn't figure out that Mu wasn't trying too hard on a very windy day when she ran 2:02 recently.
They didn't understand that her recent 50.2 400 split and her recent 1:24 600 meant she was in very good shape.
They don't have timers at all 4 handoff locations. I rewatched the video I recorded
Vess ~4:18, Van Camp ~ 4:17.5
Bush ~4:12, Jolly ~4:15
Shaw ~4:15, Gregory ~4:11 Shaw went out hard for her 65/2:14 but she had too. Gregory just too strong for her
Tuohy ~4:10, Gear ~4:11
Tuohy's splits ~48 at 300, 1:56 at 700, 3:04 at 1100
Gears splits ~48 at 300, 1:57.5 at 700, 3:06 at 1100
i want the official splits so bad, prev 1500m at penn had splits
and actually i take back what i said about giving your best are still getting beat, after seeing that rough splits
nc state coach henes seems to have made a mistake putting sam bush at second leg, sam bush should have been the third leg because even if nc state trails after 2 legs, sam bush has an insane kick and add it with tuohy's finishing kick
How much distance was there between KT and Gear when Tuohy got the hand off? Because the time estimates of the gap in here range from 2.5 to 5 seconds.
Flo does not seem keen to remove the race from behind its paywell. Do I risk another recurring charge?

the video does not show both at the handoff, nor the NC State handoff. Entering the final turn off the straightaway the gap was 2 seconds.

The video shows Gregory handing off and she appeared on fumes so therefore I assumed the gap did not grow.
Ok. Someone at the finish line said it was about 5 seconds at the handoff. The estimated splits would put it about 4. Decisions, decisions.
I had Arkansa up by 2 seconds, winning by 1 so Tuohy ran 1 second faster than Gear. Tuohy also gave up and somewhat coasted the last 10 m when the race was lost. So she probably lost 0.5 seconds on her split there.
There are splits for the 4x1500; however, they were NOT collected by FinishLynx cameras (they were collected by officials). There were not enough cameras to collect the splits between the 4x1500, 4xmile, and individual event finish lines within the short time period the events were contested. The splits collected by the officials need to be entered into some database that needs to be merged into the FinishLynx live results coding. That's my understanding of why there is the delay in showing the 1500m splits, per an explaination of an official who works on the results crew.
I think 2 seconds is about right. I was in the stands and I can’t imagine it was much more than that. KT slowly chipped away at the lead for the first 800 and then made her move with 700 to go.
Arkansas demolished the collegiate record in the women’s 4 x 1,500m relay by 14-plus seconds during the final day of the Penn Relays Carnival at historic Franklin Field and Razorback anchor leg Krissy Gear earned the women’s...

but will we get the splits eventually?? will it be even an official record if they cannot provide splits? its still not up on the site

I do see historically they post splits.
BTW I struggle with the Arkansas splits as the handoff from 2nd to 3rd leg is very clear and so is they time the baton reached the 200 m start line, which was ~8:32 for Arkansas
