I may have missed something but isn’t a 9:27 pretty bad for Courtney Frerichs? Isn’t her best time like a 9 flat?
It’s a season opener. Chill. She got the W.

Lol I’m just making an observation and it’s a season opener but a month and some change before the trials. She said she had some set backs in recent months on IG so Id be surprised if she was in 9 flat shape come the olympics
She doesn’t need to be in 9 flat shape to compete at the Olympics. Sure, the steeple is more competitive but let’s say Beatrice goes balls out 8:40. No one is catching her. That said, I don’t really know what’s going on with her. Or Emma since she bottled that 5k in TX.
Anyway, Olympics will be canceled!
Sha'Carri Richardson was totally amped before that 100. If there's a natural way to get that amped up I want to know

When compared to regular athletic tape? No.
When compared to a placebo? No.

It doesn't work. Maybe a mental thing or their physio is reading too much Runner's World.
Dang people chill.
Medina was in great shape with Tinman but lost several months after breaking his arm. Seems he struggled to quickly return to fitness and left the team. Based off strava he hasn't been able to train at a high level for awhile between injuries/work/or school. He's only recently seems to have started serious training again. Besides the guy seems to be doing what y'all want from the Tinman losers anyway. He left the Tinman and is now following the true blue collar approach of working/schooling to support himself and running on the side

So literally 99% of women? She just trying to be unique? Almost all women can be referred to as she or they. Just seems like attention seeking to me, but I may be wrong.

Medina is a 🤡. I’m sure he is blaming his loss on super shoes.
Frankly, you don‘t know what you‘re talking about. The guy is one of the most genuine people I‘ve met and he doesn‘t make excuses. There’s no reason to hate.
As another poster said, some runners don‘t have people supporting them financially and have to go to work and school full-time to put food on the table. He‘s working his way back into fitness and it‘s great he got to race for the first time in a while.
Go ahead and hate Drew and Tinman, but the wrath against Medina is irrational.
Kind of an indictment of the Hoka NAZ group that Ryan Hill was in 3:38 and 13:15 shape as recently as last summer but now can't muster a 4min mile and hasn't even run a 5k yet
His career was already on a gentle downward slope but it has really accelerated since moving to Flagstaff

Wynne ran very well there and Kerr ran well in the 800 too. In light of Brooks saying that their athletes could wear other brands this season, did Kerr and Wynne race in Dragonfly’s?
From the footage at the start lines it looked to me like Knight, Kerr and Wynne were both wearing whitewashed nikes but I’m not 100%.
In the Spesh vids the footage is all waist-up right now, I assume the whole Brooks group are in Nikes.
People were running sub 142, 330, 13, 27 well before Nike came out with carbon plated spikes. These athletes need to be honest with themselves. We’re going to get crushed in Tokyo if these American runners can’t run fast in old school spikes.

Nike owns no WRs in the fast events:
100 WR = Puma
200 WR = Puma
400 WR = Adidas
800WR = Adidas
"Old school" track spikes.

1. The dragonfly’s don’t have a carbon plate
2. That’s great that people ran so quick in the dragonfly’s but that doesn’t have any relevance to what I said about the Brooks athletes and what spikes they were wearing

**meant to say that’s great people ran so quick without dragonfly’s. Wish letsrun had an edit button 🙄

This is a cool looking venue. Have they ever considered holding the Trials here?
For the life of me I don't know why in the last 25 years we think Eugene, Oregon is the place to hold national meets.
First off the weather is horrible in June compared to almost anywhere in the country. 50% chance it will be cool (high 50's/low 60's) and raining. If its not raining then the pollen count is high (hope you don't have allergies). Eugene, is an old, small college town in the middle of nowhere, in a nowhere state, in the corner of the country that is hard to get to. Did I mention the lack of hotel rooms.
We need to host major meets in Southern California. You can almost guarantee the weather will be optimal for literally all of the events (Sunny and mid 70's, without humidity). Southern California is easy to fly into, with unlimited choices of hotels, without the price gouging for crappy hotel rooms in Eugene.
How many times as an athlete, coach or fan have you literally been bored out of your mind waiting for the meet to start during the 3 to 5 days you were in Eugene. I don't care what type of stadium they build in that little town. Eugene sucks.
If that’s the case we should have the trials not Michigan or Wisconsin. There would be perfect weather and a lot nearer the middle of the country than Southern California.

+1
For track, anyway.

Remember when Mason Ferlic ran the best Michigan ever but it didn't mean anything because he ran 13:25 again?
Umm, he won the race, and the first place prize money. He's got the Olympic standard in the steeple, so didn't need a 5000 time.
Uh, it's now 2021 and not the 90's. Have you been to Eugene lately?
Also, the weather is not horrible. The pollen does suck, though.
Eugene wins in one category
....It's the filthiest college town in the PAC 10
Yes, including Pasadena & LA.
It's that disgusting
