"Solid win by Jakob, but it really showed where he still needs to work. Some very questionable inside passes that he got away with. Despite a very slow pace he really didn't separate from an inferior athlete in Taki who might've beaten him with better tactics.
Kejelcha really fell apart during the last lap. Fast first lap and allowing some costly passes later on must've been too much for him.

"Kejelcha pushed hard the first 1000m, Jakob let Mcsweyn go around through 800m. Jakob took charge squeezing by on the inside towards the bell, and passed 1200m around 2:53ish. Big pack surged on the final back stretch, Taki and Fontes closed up on Jakob. Taki made an unusual tactical move, chose to stick on the inside but never had the space open up. Jakob waited until 100 or so to go to accelerate away, got the win in 3:33.92. Taki 3:34.14, McSweyn 3:34.25."

I stated just after the 1500m that it looked as Jakob wanted to test his sprinting abilities.
Afterwards I have learned from the Norwegian Medias that Jakob wasn´t in the mood to run another time trial but wanted to see if he could win a more tactical race.
Jakob didn´t decide to run before monday and have not had any specific preparation for the race.
I think he did quite well under these conditions and he seemed to be in full in the finish looking back several times to make sure running fast enough to hold off his competitors.

Kejelcha:
I think that people here are too negative towards Kejelcha! In the 1500m in DL Monaco he was competing for the first time in the outdoor season going close to his 3:32 all time best OUTDOORS. I think that is a good performance!
I am aware that his INDOOR mile WR indicates a 1500m time around 3:30 but I have also learned (from another poster) that the BOUNCY WOODEN TRACK in Boston is very fast (perhaps even faster than Monaco) so..... Kejelcha could be at his limit in the 1500m?
Also people here may be confused over how easy Jakob is beating Kejelcha since so many posters have believed in the narrative that the top Ethiopians were far superior to Jakob when it came to both finishing speed and endurance.
But this narrative may be completely false?!
We might see already in the 3000m in DL Rome where Jakob is reported to participate.
It would be interesting if Barega, Kiplimo, Kejelcha and other top names from East Africa participate too.
