Looking retrospectively the injury rate was no higher then any other training methods of the time or now for that matter. Training has always been an individual tolerance be it Gerschler, Igloi , Lydiard, Bowerman, or whomever. In fact one might argue the injury rate was lower under Igloi"s watchful eyes.
Though I will concede the point that was the believe against the Igloi approach. at that time
