If she's fully fit then yes as she's the best marathoner in the field and very good on hills.

I say yes.
If she starts, she’ll be healthy and a healthy Jordan makes the team. I know that logic isn’t always true, because she started Chicago and dropped out, but that was the only time that’s happened. Overall I would guess she starts so my answer is yes! It’s a good question though.
If her Hamstring holds up she will be in the top three, she has always been a strength runner and will do well on the hills.
You know what? Maybe.
I wouldn't be surprised if she either doesn't start or drops out because of injury or lack of fitness. Marathon training beats up the body and it appears Hasay is trapped in an injury cycle.
yes if she is healthy she will make the marathon team. But that is a big IF...
If she makes the team, there is a 50/50 chance she will be injured and either will not start or will start and DNF at the Olympics
I have zero empathy towards her. She has dug herself in a hole.
First, Symmonds approximated you have about ten years to be at a high level. Hasay has been doing this since she was 11. I feel like she has been in a stagnant but slightly declining part of her career since U of O.
Second, she has had every single advantage in the world and even has less scrutinized ties to doping. By the virtue of athletics itself she is tainted like Gatlin and Marion Jones but without the medal.
I think Atlanta is going to end in disaster and all the tears will come out. It will be sad but it will be the end of Jordan as a competitor. She may get a movie and continue to inspire but she is not Olympic material unless she pulls a Pappas and runs for her mom's native GBR.
You people are sick, always hoping for someone else to fail to somehow justify your own miserable mediocrity.
Becoming the top American marathoner, second fastest to Kastor I believe, is what you call declining?

I am not hating and you make a valid point but its just a prediction. If track had gambling I would not bet on Hasay.
If she finishes, then yes - she makes the team. Not super confident she'll finish. I actually really like her though and hope she does.
Jordan is going to win by 2 minutes.
The following might be one of the most inaccurate posts I've read on here in al ong time.

Are you crazy? She left college as a 4:10/15:37 runner. Well I guess as a senior she also ran the 10k and ran 31:46 but didn't make NCAA finals.
None of that is REMOTELY In the same league as a 2:20:57 marathon.
Points of IAAF scoring table according to Caltafdotcom.
4:10- 1126
15:37- 1092
31:46-1151
2:20:57 - 1223
As someone who studies and coaches the mental aspect of the ‘game’ – I believe you doubters have missed some important facts. Jordan’s professional career has been a series of highs and lows both on the track and off. This fall, after what would devastate most – she has done nothing but step up and stand up for herself.
2 weeks prior to the Chicago Marathon her former coach is banned. She is left without a coach, 6 months prior to the Olympic Trials. She starts the Chicago Marathon and 2 miles in, feels pain in her hamstring and pulls out of race. **Note: most likely far more emotional than physical. Her body shut her down because her mind was on overload. Check out pre-race pics of her at the start line. She looked tense as could be.
YET! How did she respond? Steps Up and Stands Up
She finds the perfect person (for Jordan) to take the place of a coach – Paula Radcliffe as advisor. A long admired running hero for her – someone who symbolizes a strong connection to her Mom. (It is not an easy sell yet she persists – she knows this is what is best for her.)
She moves herself back to her small hometown where she feels most comfortable, accepted and supported. (I am sure the sunshine doesn’t hurt either).
She stands firm when she speaks of her experience with her former coach – AND at the same time does not in any way disparage those who had a different experience. That takes character and strength. The easier path would be to join the bandwagon of haters.
At every turn, stepping up and standing up for Jordan Hasay.
I think you are about to see the performance of a lifetime. At the age of 28, Jordan knows who she is and what she needs to succeed. Perhaps for the first time in her life – she is fully in charge of her future. No longer following someone else’s plan (no matter how experienced they are), but rather listening to herself and making it happen.
I predict the following:
1st place – US Olympic Trials 2020
Medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020
And sometime over this next year breaks the American record in the Marathon
When you learn from Loss, you Win!
I think her coach is preparing her very well and she will rip the field apart when she decides to. She is more of a lock lhan Rupp/Korir to make the team. Agree Rojo?

Accurate prediction

is it weird to anyone else that no other professional runners comment on Jordan's instagram posts? Feel like all the other training group team members exchange positive comments (thinking of Bowerman Babes, Emma Coburn's group, Sisson/Huddle, Goucher etc.) and Jordan gets nothing...

Hasay will win the trials.
If she's healthy and uninjured and shows up? Of course she'll make the team. She's a tough cookie, experienced, and she has all the qualities and c.v. to place first or second. 2:2O -2:22.
Unfortunately yes she will....
Those Alphafly bouncers will make a mockery 9f the whole thing. Be prepared for it.
from the interviews I read, she claimed the hamstring was 'tweaked' during the Chicago race and that there wasn't any indication of an injury leading up to race day.
I'm not surprised that she isn't, at least visibly, well connected with other pros on social media. Her association with Salazar and now her lack of a pro training group have probably distanced her from her peers.
I think she will either make the Olympic team or drop out of the race with an injury.
