I was at the meet today, though not competing for a team. At check in, I noticed that teams got their uniforms checked and if OKed by the official, they were giving a colored dot to put on their bib. All of the Tinman Elite seem to have that dot, so they must have been checked and cleared. If it was a violation, the person checking them should have caught it and had them correct it prior to race time.
If the colored dot is, indeed, an indication of an OK'd uniform, and each Tinman Elite runner's bib was marked with a dot, then this seems to shout out that it's a USATF's official who is to blame.
B*itching about the uniforms reeks of unsportsmanship and slimebag tactics far worse that any itty bitty uniform issue.
I find it hard to believe that Tinman athletes would come all the way from Colorado to Pennsylvania and put in all this effort to race strongly, only to throw it all away because of a uniform DQ.
Here it is after 2 a.m. Eastern Time on a Sunday morning, and no DQ has been announced, that I know. What does that tell me? That PROBABLY there ain't gonna be no stinkin' DQ.
On the other hand, what has transpired suggests that USATF is uniquely qualified at shooting itself in the foot over and over again, and the last I heard no Adidas or Nike or New Balance, etc., shoe can stop a bullet.
And this whole thread, with its posts trying to shoot down Tinman Elite once again supports the notion that haters gonna hate, now and forever, on LetsRun. Why? Because, per the LetsRun motto, "Hate is a beautiful thing."
