Funny! It does indeed feel like an exorcism will be needed, by someone at the right hand of God. The local parish priest may not do the trick, nor even Touchdown Jesus at Notre Dame’s home field.

The blacks don't like Pete!
All this talk of "cleaning up the boards" and then two seconds later you're on here drumming up political drama.
Give.
Me.

Break.
My dream ticket is Mayor Pete and Amy Klobuchar.
Yang gets a serious cabinet position, not one of the lame ones.
Tulsi sec of defense?

Obama was a pretty successful candidate. It might be smart to listen to his advice and not pick a candidate too far to the left.
Buttigieg's smart, articulate, calm and in control. The downside is that he is young, inexperienced and gay (there are still prehistoric thinkers who hate gays).
He could only be a vp with a female candidate. The dems wouldn't want two males on the ticket. I think he will continue to grow in popularity and would not rule him out as winning the nomination and the presidency.
Obama's hand picked guy has dropped out. Beto was Obama's guy. Beto, a Texan did not start off as the most left candidate. O B A M A has moved to Limousine Liberal phase of his life. When he ran for prez he did not talk like that. Before O B A M A was prez, he held private meetings with Bill Ayers. While O B A M A was on campaign trail in 2007 & 2008, O B A M A held one or more secret meetings with Minister Louis Farrakhan. Today, O B A M A is in the money making phase of his life. Bernie could have won D.N.C. nomination in 2016 with O B A M A's support. Bernie had/has more energy than H.R.C. H.R.C. was seen as distant and elitist. H.R.C. was too tired to campaign hard. Nearly 300 lbs. T R U M P campaigned harder. Bernie could have won. O B A M A is enjoying life. He'll be a former prez like Gerald Ford.

That's smart. Great idea. You really learned from 2016 didn't you? Yes, every other candidate for the Dem's are just as bad as Trump. Give me a break.
I don’t vote against Trump or anyone else. I vote for candidates I believe are capable of doing the job.
Which likely third party candidate do you suppose will be more "capable of doing the job" than the eventual major party candidate?

Mayor Pete is way out of his league. The New York Times is constantly propping him up, claiming he is incredibly articulate, etc., while constantly publishing articles first against Sanders, and then, after his heart attack, against Warren, because they (or Sulzberger, their head) want someone middle of the road who won't rock the boat. I've listened to them all and I don't see Pete as particularly articulate. His verbiage is empty of any substance. Sanders and Warren are articulate.
His lack of experience keeps coming up, yet did Trump got elected with zero political experience.
All the more reason. He would be a terrific president in comparison to Trump. Trump shows what a complete disaster it is to have someone with no experience who is also unintelligent, a pathological liar, a crook, a narcissist, rash, and foolhardy. Any of the Democrats would be a hundred times better than Trump. But if we are judging among the Democrats, then Mayor Pete is not the way to go. Democrats need to stand for their principles.
That's 8,515 more votes than Trump ever received before he ran for president.

I was just reading an article on Mayor Pete and it said how only 8,000 people only voted for him in his last election.
I didn't believe it as he's one of the front runners for the Democratic nomination and mayor of a "big" city.
Tuns out the article was correct, in the last election Mayor Pete got 8,515 votes. And South Bend is only famous because of Notre Dame. It is actually very small, only 100,000 people live there and not many people vote in the mayoral election.
I know a lot of people are disenchanted with the American dream saying the system is rigged. I get it. I'll never forget being in Kenya and talking with some runners about politics and saying "it seems that people vote on tribal allegiances here." The guy then pointed out we were about to go Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton for the presidency so he said it was worse in America.
But we elected President Obama. And now there is a chance we'd elect Mayor Pete.
Who says American exceptionalism is dead? What if the presidency goes Obama, Trump, Mayor Pete? Pretty cool/nuts depending on how you look at it. In the betting markets, Mayor Pete is 3rd for the Democratic nomination just behind Biden but ahead of Sanders.
Fact: Buttjudge could not win a state wide election in Indiana
By voting 3rd party, you are basically voting for Trump. You cannot believe that giving it to Trump is the better answer. Can you?

Fact: Obama could not win Indiana in 2012 and Hillary could not win Indiana in 2016.
Jimmy Carter (twice), Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Bill Clinton (twice), Al Gore and John Kerry could not win Indiana. (Obama did win it in 2008)
No one expects a Democrat to win Indiana in 2020.
And Al Gore could not win his home state of Tennessee in 2000. If he did, he would have been president.
So, Buttigieg's ability to win a state wide election in Indiana has no bearing on whether he could be elected president.

I used to live in South Bend and I voted for Pete twice. The first time he ran, nobody wanted the job. 2nd time he destroyed everyone, including Davis in the primary. He isn't great, but he is far from bad. Is he qualified to be president? Based on the idiot in the white house now and the sH*t show we see daily, he is a million times qualified. He may not end up being president in 2020 but you will know his name and see him in national politics for decades to come. Don't be surprised if he is a Senator or in the Cabinet in the near future.

There is a way to do it. If Al Gore was over 55% in polls in a state in 2000, it was safe to vote for Nader in that state. What happened in Florida in 2000 was dirty politics. What happened to Gore in 2000 was criminal.

Right. And a post suggesting electroshock therapy for gay people remains intact for 12 hours on wejo's own thread. And a post referring to "the blacks" has been up all day now.
I haven't reported either of them, FYI. I report dozens of posts, but it's a losing battle as long as we have the basic disconnect about what's appropriate that emerged in the now-locked thread on moderation policy.
No. There is a way wrote:

That whole election was a big conspiracy orchestrated by the guy who came up with the "Sore Loserman" bumper stickers immediately after Gore announced his running mate. That guy cleaned up.

"Buttjudge"...are you 12 years old?
I will have to point out that Democrat Joe Donnelly was elected senator of Indiana in 2012.
But he lost last year.
Indiana does swing a bit.

If he ran for any state wide election today, he would win.
