Who would win in a 2 mile: Dathan Ritzenhein or Alan Webb?
Also, I have been having pain in my shins. Should I keep running or train through the pain?

Guess it is a question he has been thinking about himself. Check out the quotes from today's stage
Man that is almost erie, like he reads Letsrun and instead of posting his reply he responds through the press....
Lance probably has the best range out of any recorded athlete.
4.1 40 speed and sub 2:00 marathon prospects, maybe he'll even run a few races in Europe in the next few years.
There are many great athletes who would be good in another sport. Speculating is fun but should not be taken sriously.
It's a common problem with high school kids to think that if someone is great in one sport they would be equally as great in another. Maybe, maybe not. I doubt Tergat will ever ride the Tour de France. Lance actually has the opportunity to run a major marathon.
At my own very sub-elite level, I took up bike racing one summer and was good (compared to other local cyclists). They all said I would be very good if I got a better bike and trained seriously. My view was that it would be easier to be a good cyclist than a good runner. I mean I just jumped in and did a 10 mile time trial in under 30 minutes and it was easy. Not that that is a good time, but it isn't horrible. I rode with good cyclists a couple times a week and had no problem keeping up with them.
OK, my seious answer to this question- if he got off the bike and started training right now, and trained for a year to run a marathon, he could probably go 2:50.
My actual answer is who cares? He is a cyclist, not a competitive runner. Riding is his job, why would he give up cycling to be a mediocre runner?
he wood wun wewwy fast.
Excellent answer!
Watch the 24 hour Fitness commercial. Lance has horrible running form.
I bet Tergat could beat most of the people in the tour if he were to train like a world class cyclist just as Lance would would be able to beat nearly all 2:20 marathoners if he were to put his mind to train like a world class runner. These guys have the endurance, ultra low body fat already, and know how to train with insane intenstiy and determination. I hope we see this happen, I don't know how low Lance could go, but I pretty much gaurantee he could come within 20 minutes of the world record. Now sub 2:10, that is a horse of a different color.
I noticed that too. He did not look like someone who could carry that body, economically, over 26.2 miles. How big is he anyway? He seems too big to be a top marathoner.
Lance was a shit runner when he did triathlon. it was his weakness and it was why he went over to bike racing full time. i mean even for a triathlete he was a shit runner, like riding 52 mins for 40K bike then coming off and running like 38 or 39 for 10k. there were faster age groupers. this was back in the day when triathlon was hard core unlike today when it is like the marathon and has a participant mentality for 90% who do it.
You are comparing him/his attitude and training to what he was like in high school. Would you make the same comparisons for yourself? I think he is much different as an adult/professional athlete.
Why did you say that?
My appolgies, I think I posted the reply incorrectly.
It really would be neat if Lance actually gave the marathon the effort that he has cycling. I doubt he would, because that is not retirement. That is more obsession moving to another venu. Kerry knows when it is photoop time with a legend.
Paul Tergat would dominate the Tour de France. He wouldn't p^ssify the sport by letting his team do all the work. Instead, he would go with every attack and try to win every single stage. That's a true competitor.
Lance is capable of a 2:15 because of he's crazy muscle recruitment
