Bench press to body weight ratio is a silly stat imo. I am 6’4, 205 with long limbs. Benching 310 in a meet is never going to happen at my size. For example, Jon Jones is around 6’4, 220. He is a shredded genetic freak, tests positive for steroids regularly, and loves powerlifting. His bench is around 300.
Bench press to body weight ratio is for shorter lifters with eating disorders who think anyone without a 6-pack is “fat”.
if it makes everyone feel better I'm 130lbs and can barely bench 100lbs..... I never do anything with my upper body though.

I’m 98lbs and could bench 75 lol
Be careful benching.
My bench was by far my weakest lift, 390 @ 220 lbs. I over trained to try to bring it up and ended up with surgery on both rotator cuffs.
My shoulders now can have months long periods of pain brought on by sprinting or other indirect activities. I regret trashing them.
2 x bw is pretty good for correct form and no doping. Football players generally fail both of those requirements and still don't hit 2x bw.
