RSA are in good shape this time of year. Might depend on who else is in the race, and if Semenya can draft a fast first lap.
Makes for great intrigue

I ran a 4:09 mile back in my college days. I have since realized that I have always been a woman stuck in a man's body. I should be the women's record holder in the mile and I deserve all the benefits that go along with that recognition.
Hope so, wish her the best.

You'll have to do hormone treatment, grow a nice, permanent rack and then run your 4:09 all over again.
My humble plea to the female entrants meant to compete against her is to DNS... Boycott let her run 1.48 if she wants to but do not be part of legitimising this crap. Let her run alone. Do not be part of this bullcrap.

THis
We'll finally have a solid data point on the time advantage of running an 800 on Pure Hate.
148

Came here to say just the same thing.
Also we will see what an 800 is ran on in pure tears because Sharpe is there as well.
You can try that, but that aituation has no bearings on caster’s. Not even close
I agree she has no reason NOT to go all-out, but does anyone have any idea if she's actually in peak shape? Why would she be if she was planning for the WCs later in the season? All out for her right now might be 1:55. Kind of a bummer.
She should just not take whatever hormone suppressors they require and run in open meets.
Also, what would have happened if she ran a WR last year? Would it be on the books for good or removed?
My brother ( Olympic finalist) once said.
Women's track is like watching a B Grade men's competition. Obviously focusing on the results.
So what can a better than average high school boy, or a B Grade adult run?
Maybe Caster will show us.

Without a doubt a book deal is in her future.

She must have been expecting the possible outcome already last year. I do think she went all-out in several races in 2018. In any case the 1:54 in Rabat and Paris were not run with her frequent negative split but a more typical 55-56 first lap. I think she also seriously tried to get the 1000m WR but there it probably shows that she is more of a 400/800 type and she also had less experience over that distance.
In fact I'd be somewhat surprised if she ran faster in Doha than in Paris because she could have shifted her training already more to the longer distances.
A Semenya WR of last year would have been for good, like her 600m from Berlin 2017.

Great to see her going after it one final time at 800.
No, it is not "great" to have an XY DSD person racing in XX women's events.
It is terrible.
Please THINK, and stop saying such things.
Plus you're already aware that Semenya has double the testosterone of an average man.
The sooner that all XY and/or DSD people are banned from competing in XX women's events the better.

I totally agree with this.
I believe we have a few XY Americans as well but we love our own and turn a blind eye to it.
Who? Open our eyes.
I doubt Semenya gets even close to the WR tomorrow. The decision has only been out for the last day or two and it's not like she can get in a tune up workout. She's either in dedicated 5000m training (if she assumed she'd lose the appeal) or she's in early-season mode and not gonna be in 1:54 shape for a couple months (if she assumed she'd be able to keep competing).
still picking her for my Fantasy DL team though
My prediction is 1:48.
