Last summer I stumbled upon an article from sweatelite that had his 2017 Berlin buildup. One thing I took away from it and adopted into my own training was doing my easy run on Sunday a little slower than usual, and doing the Monday easy run a little faster than usual. That was the main change to my training from last summer through last fall and I dropped my half marathon PR from 1:16 high down to 1:14 low. Before that my easy days were usually the same pace, so I think having one day as a true recovery effort and another at a moderate effort helped fill in the gaps. Monday became my favorite training run of the week, just running at a solid clip while still being totally relaxed.
Makes sense SC guy-i have been doing a similar cycle with Sunday being a true recovery run with some quality on Monday to start the week-look forward to see how it pays out in 6 weeks or so-seemed like it worked well for you!
