What are these guys doing letting up in the 400? It's a TIME qualifier for the final.

I don't get Dwight's complaining about Lane 3 being a problem. Seems like the best lane to me. I wouldn't want to be in 1 or 4. And in Lane 3 you're going to get more downhill than lane 2. What am I missing?

Fastest women's collegiate 60H field ever.
400m prelims were slow, especially for the men.
They are running lanes 3 through 6, so lane 3 is effectively inside.
But agree that he's getting tedious on this

Well no one is running in lane 2. Or 1.
At least Stones is getting that part right.
Montgomery is also very annoying as she just spits out a high volume of track terms that don't really get to any overall point.

great to see some timely coverage of NCAAs, thanks!
If you are looking for the Usain Bolt heir apparent, is it Grant Holloway? What a freaking beast. He looks like he's just better and bigger than everyone.
Could he possibly medal in 5 events at the Olympics over his career? 110h, 100, LJ, 4 x 100 and 4 x 400?
Martha Bissah of Norfolk St wins heat #1.
Kind of surprised no one ran faster than 2:06 off of a 61 first 400.
Gabby Crank of Texas didn' trun too smart. Wy was she going out like into lane 3 as they approached 400?

bring on the hype. In reality Holloway is only good at the 110h. Sux in long jump. sux in the 100.
Heat 2
NCAA 1k record holder Danae Rivers of Penn State didn't look great. She ran in 2nd throughout but coming down the home straight, she got passed by two woman and only ended up 4th in her heat. She did advance on time however.

Rojo, you going to give us some play by play updates during the men and women's 5k's? should be some good ones!
800 Men's heat 1.
Arop got a big lead on backstretch of final lap - had gapped field but totally tied up and then let up at line and got passed. Only ended up 5th in the heat but got in on time.

Have we seen more falls today than any NCAA championship previously? Lots of falls
In the pole vault. They were supposed to be jumping at 5.68. In reality, they put the bar at 5.73. 5 guys went out but now they get to try again as they realized their mistake.

That's embarrassing.
Are those who passed at 5.68m forced to just sit around and wait for those (possibly) 15 attempts?
