This topic is fascinating as thorough understanding of the energy systems and their contributions to different types of running underlies all of training.
The aerobic and anaerobic contributions to each event continue to be grossly misquoted by most people, in my experience. What I find interesting is the very high contributions of aerobic power to the sprints - 200 and 400. I would be interested to know about the percentage of aerobic contribution to the 100, 150, and 300 as well.
(In my experience as a 100 - 400 runner, I have been repeatedly told that 100 and 200 are essentially 100% anaerobic, while the 400 is 95% anaerobic.)
