KJT needs to run under 2:07.1 to break the WR for the indoor pentathlon. her PB is 2:07.64 outdoors. seems extremely unlikely.
meanwhile, Amel Tuka qualifies for the semis in the 800m. waiting on Mark English, Andres Kramer, and de Arriba

English in. Was hoping the little Hungarian would pip the Frenchman for big Q in English's heat. oh well
Lamu will probably win this, but I'd like to see Klosterhalfen beat her.
I keep going back and forth as to who takes the W 3K. Ultimately, I think the home field advantage helps Muir eke out a win.
Bizarre finishing technique from Niamh Emerson.

How so? Her hands?
Crowded field - 16 women.

I think Muir is the CLEAR favorite if they were both fresh. But having to had a run a race just a couple of hours ago is a wildcard for me.
Anyone besides me thinks it's kind of weird that the EUropeans are all into the European championships when they are trying to erase their own countries identities with on big European country.
I mean GBR is getting so much crap for Brexit. In my mind, why not just get rid of all countries if you are going to give them crap?
So how did Alberto tell KK how to run this against Muir?
Muir right to the front, KK tucks in 2nd. So far playing into Muir's hands.
Anyone know why the women have different colored bibs? Muir has yellow, I see white and blue, as well

No.
This race could get really annoying as I imaigne they'll be lapping people when the real racing comes on. How weak is hte qualifying standard for this one?
Couldn't be a better setup for Muir here at 1/2 way.
....and just like that KK bursts to lead with 7 laps to go.
Koko takes the lead at 4:09 mark.
Runs next lap in 33. 4:42. Just her and Muir are together.
548.85 at 2k. Koko and Muir are clear.
623 800 to go.
