I do not watch or really keep up with the Ingebrigtsen guys since I mainly watch US Runners or people who train here lol. But Am I missing something about Filip? Does he win races he shouldn't win? I would think everyone would pick the New world record holder to win but no one is.
The main reason for this is the “Great White Hope” effect. It is reasonable to say that the Ingibrigies could potentially win, because they are good, and nobody knows what condition everybody will be showing up in. But those guys are heavily favored here because they are white-especially Jakob, who is really, REALLY lauded as the Great White Hope to beat the Africans.
I figured as much. I looked Filip up and he's run 7:49 this year. 3:30 last year outdoors and has a indoor PB of 3:42.

I am very sure he has been tested as the reigning indoor champ and new world record holder. He is showing more potential than Jakob at this age
