A remarkable bit of history. And to think CBS cancelled the show for not being "relevant."

Anyone remember a show from the 60's called "Hank"?
I was really young then, but i remember them and it made a big impression on me.
Cool show.
Wikipedia describes the plot as "Seeing that the best route to success is through higher education, Hank ( a teen-aged orphan) attempts to illegally audit classes at the fictional Western State University, while at the same time taking a variety of odd jobs, including running his own lunch truck on campus, to financially support what remains of his family. " He would drop in on the track team, and was the fastest runner, but could never hang around for awards because he wasn't officially registered as a student, and there-in had to evade the notoriety.
Round the twist.
Every episode was great. There was a race up and down the lighthouse.
It involved clones.
Kenny vs Spenny episode where they train and race a half marathon
I loved those Jericho mile clips. One of my favorite if not favorite running movie of all time.
thanks for great post
In the first season of The Facts of Life, the character Sue Ann was training the Cindy character to run the mile. The principal though Cindy wouldn't be fast enough to win the big race for the school, so he told Sue Ann that Cindy had broken Sue Ann's previous record. Sue Ann got jealous and decided to run again, which caused a big riff with Cindy. In the end, they worked it out.
The Six Million Dollar Man slow motion running with the cool bionic sound effects - they did it at least several times every episode:

Magnum PI - "Beauty knows no pain"
It's the episode when Magnum races an Ironman. From season 1 of original Tom Selleck series.
I agree on The Office "Fun Run" and Sienfeld. Those are great.
“Brian’s Song,” made for TV actually.
Once on The Jeffersons, George Jefferson and Tom Willis both decided to train for the NYC Marathon. They had a big bet on it, but when the race came around they both sucked.
Once on The Waltons, Mary Ellen and Erin got in a relay race where involving riding horses and then handing off to a runner. They beat some much stronger male competition.
Once on MASH, the 4077 and another unit each picked a runner to race for the glory of their respective Army hospitals. Despite overwhelming odds, Father Mulcahy beat the other runner (who appeared to all to be much better).
