Agree. I wish more coaches would take the long term approach to their athletes.
There was a thread started by why high school runners form is all over the place compared to the efficiency you see in college age trained runners. Practice and repetition is the reason. Look at a two year old walk. They walk all wobbly ect. Same with someone who just started running takes years to look like kipchoge.
The problem is Jacob already looks like a pro. Hes not the wobbly high schooler who just started running. He’s been training like a pro for a long time. What would happen if his coach took the longer approach? It’s too bad because we will most likely never know.
