Now we just need more women in coaching positions. No idea why this isn't already a thing.
Need more women linebackers.
Semenya, you've got a golden contract if you want it.

You think the NFL is dead?
I don't.......but the hard core Trump supporters are boycotting the NFL. Have a co-worker who has season tickets. Stopped going to the games. Still buys the season tickets though. I guess he's waiting for his leader to lift the NFL ban.
I have yet to notice a cheerleader, really don't care.
And, the game is great, will stay great.

I always assumed that dating a ‘cheerleader’ in the USA had the same connotation as dating a ‘lingerie model’ in mine.
I want to see girls I go to a bar. (talking back in the day, married now) I have never paid any attention to mascots or cheerleaders. Just don't notice them. until the camera gives ya no choice.

Yes because the one thing a society in decline needs is more gay cheerleaders and Democrats.
Youth football is down- some parents don't want their kids to turn their brains to mashed potatoes.
Some of the teams are seeing attendance fall.
Yes, it's till #1 in ratings but fewer people are watching.
And Trump's influence has little to do with this.
I know, where I coached XC/Track the girls on the different teams (XC, soccer, field hockey, tennis, swimming) on the fall sports were not impressed with the football players as athletes because they all felt that they worked harder at their sport- which was most likely true.
Interest is dying. It'll be around but I wonder in 20 years what it will be like.
Yay! I may just watch this season.
The NFL is not dead yet, but there are several factors conspiring against it. Concussions/injuries lead parents to keep their kids from playing football at a young age, so a ripple effect is coming in a few years. Weak leadership ever since Pete Rozelle left. Anthem protests allowed to occur, which upsets at least 60% of the fan base. And the fact that it can’t really get any bigger than it was in 2015, which is the year football peaked and then began a slow decline.
Male Cheerleaders. I'm sure that will boost the ratings.
Personally I'd prefer that there be NO Cheerleaders. I'm just there to watch the game.

What sport will replace football?

Soccer.
Virtually every kid is playing soccer when they are little. Schools are adding soccer programs. TV is plastered with soccer matches.
Well, it is the most popular sport in the world.

In our great economy, decisions are made with the interests of equity holders in mind, not your emotions.
The owners likely got together (or appointed someone) and thought long and hard about whether this adds value to their investment. Maybe they thought this could improve the leagues image, or expand the universe of potential sponsors. Regardless, id put my money on the great capitalist decision makers over your message board whining.
Perhaps you should head over to Trump’s twitter feed to get your emotions pampered. Let the men make these decision.
The owners are making bizarre decisions because they are worried about politicians messing with their anti-trust status on the federal side, their tax breaks and stadium financing locally.
The left will lose money themselves or pressure other businesses to lose in order to gain power down the line.
CNN, for one, is often now beaten in the cable ratings in the USA by the FoodNetwork and HGTV but it is a lobbying/public relations firm for the left/democrats.
The big guys are far stronger than any swimmer, soccer, XC etc.
Tons of sprinters, hurdlers, long jumpers have played pro football. What can those you mentioned do?

Yup. Soccer is the sport of the future.
Always has been.
Always will be.
I bet just here in California we will have over 1000 football teams this season, if talking HS, JC, University, NFL, Arena, As long as that is going on pro football will be fine.
There are TONS of schools nation wide that most have never even heard of, how about ....
Berry
Wooster
Olivet
Hiram
In D3 we have 20 conferences, in the NAIA......nine conferences, with schools like....Evange, Dordt, Bacone etc
There will always be football players,
Football will be fine. The NFL will never be replaced.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
