Amen brother, Amen. It's as if you read my mind, and then said what I wanted to much better than I ever would.

physical therapist said: What are you talking about? Cheserek ran a 3:53.85 indoors in February.
yes, I had clearly seen the result because if you look at my earlier post in this thread you can see that I list Cheserek's time as being the fastest mile in North Carolina. I just hadn't realised it was at the Camel City Invitational. thank you to you, and everyone else, for pointing it out.
no one is more pleased than I that the event is going strong.
cheers.

Cottonshirt,
You're an idiot, and know very little about the current state of a lot of what is going on in the sport outside of Raleigh.
Cheers.
Want to fill us in on this huge glut of strong milers that you're insinuating that the US has. How many are even UNDER 3:35. We'll wait for your response, which I think will not be so snarky and derogatory.
Cutting down the time said: What is the record for the fastest time under 4:00 for someone's first sub-4:00?
a man's first sub-4 is called his debut. the fastest debut on record is 3:47.88 John Kemboi Kibowen (KEN) Oslo 4 Jul 1997.
Charlie Marquardt's debut was impressive, but sadly not a record.
cheers.
I am almost offended that you were not offended! That is very unlike letsrun to agree. You have a great weekend.
Impressive. Didn't think Lomong had the wheels for the mile anymore. So he's won a 10k championship and now a pretty quick mile in the same year. Not done yet.

I'm betting you have a beard and drink only craft beers.
I did some quick TFN reviewing and it appears roughly the 10th fastest such “debut” among Americans, taking out Lagat and Sydney Maree (also coached by Tom Donnelly), since they had already broken 4 for another country.

Proves Lydiard is right once again, he focused on building up his strength this year by focusing on the 10k and it brought his mile speed back.
Awfully impressive to see Lopez Lomong running 3:53 at this stage in his career in an all-American race (as far as I can tell) and awfully impressive to see 13 guys sub 4 with all those sub 3:56 in a non-circuit race.
Hopefully, we'll see a few of these guys make the leap from this level to 3:31-32/3:50 quality in the next couple of years.

Ah, excellent. Cool list.
Overly sensitive idiot,
I wasn't referring to depth of milers/1500 runners in the entirety of the United States. I was referring to the poster's lack of knowledge of the recent existence of the other professional event in North Carolina still currently being held in the state of North Carolina, Camel City Invitational.
Did you suffer from reading comprehension growing up? How did this affect your SAT score?
Do you understand that I just used the word affect properly? And, also how that might have a positive effect on your future emails that include either the noun effect or verb affect?
I hope that your reading comprehension, and general heightened sensitivity will improve with time.
All the best,
Stormy
