In the full marathon, Kenya's Ruth Chebitok won the women's race in a new course record of 2:24:49 as compatriort Kenneth Mungara (Editor's note: 44 yrs young) won the men's race in 2:09:49. Boston marathon champ Yuki Kawauchi was 9th in 2:14:51.

This is a great thread because it is about PERFORMANCES. 35 yr old Hall and 44 yr old Mungara. They are both heroes.
I wish this was the standard for all future threads. Can you imagine if there were no future threads about Linden, Flanagan, Goucher, Ritz, Ryan Hall, or any other runner that is done performing? That would be great. The standard should be RUN WELL AND WE TALK ABOUT YOU. Stop living in the past. Anything other than performance is embarrassing and does nothing to move the sport down the road.
