Denouk - no need to time these things yourself anymore as the results already give you the 100m splits for the race for each athlete.
Rotich was 1:18.2 @600 and 1:31.1 @700 so 25.5 and 12.6 (so you were pretty accurate)

Thanks JRinaldi. I knew they gave more detailed splits for middle distance events in some meets, but are they giving 100m splits in all Diamond League races now?
It does seem that they are always rounding up to next tenth; in the 1500m Cheruiyot's 'official' split at 1200m (where he was in front) was given on the screen as 2:50.21. He was actually on the line at 2:50.0. But in the 'race analysis' download at the meet website, they give it as 2:50.3. So while his actual last 300m was 39.50, it is given as 39.4.
There seems to be a 0.2 residual error between the onscreen clock and the clock on the infield (which is the official stadium clock). Cheruiyot's torso is above the 200m from home line at 3:03.6, and his torso is on the finish line at 3:29.5, which would make me inclined to give his last 200m as 25.9, possibly 25.8.
I recorded his 1300m split as 3:03.8 based on the 0.2 differential, but the race analysis has it as 3:04.0, which seems a bit slow. I suppose it could have been 3:03.91 and they rounded it to 3:04.0, which of course then changes the split by 0.1.
I know I'm splitting hairs but I like to use the same system for checking and working out splits, as I know from experience that even top meets in recent years have got the official splits wrong.
Cheers.
