Interesting picks. I think I would put Cragg in the top three. Not sure who gets pulled out, though. No matter what, this is going to be an awesome trials race.
Super happy for Taylor and her team this weekend. I would like to see her jump back into a more competitive race for fall or spring. Maybe NYC and/or Boston.

Great run from Kellyn...here is a link to her training leading up to this race...seems like after the disaster that was Boston, she was able to bounce back quickly and cash-in on her fitness...

For example:
Northern Arizona-based runner Kellyn Taylor may just be the definition of "badass."
In addition to logging 100-mile weeks, the 30-year-old, who placed sixth in the 2016 Olympic marathon trials and fourth in the 10,000 meters, is a firefighter-in-training as well as mom to 6-year-old Kylyn, her daughter... with her stupid husband Kyle.
Distance running isn't just about logging the miles, though.
Ms. Taylor likes to do 1 leg squats... which Ms. Taylor does all the time...trying to impress all the other runners in Flagstaff with her stupid 1 leg squats.
Instructions from Ms. Taylor on her 1 leg squats:
1) How to do it:
Stand with your legs firmly on the ground. Keeping your weight on one heel, raise the opposite leg to the front. You can hold your extended foot or leg, but you don't have to. Push your hips back and bend your standing knee to slowly lower yourself as far as you can. Raise your body back up and repeat.
2) When do it:
I do 2-3 sets at 8-10 reps each time. It's part of the strength routine I do 1-2 times per week. I also sometimes just do them on a whim for "fun" because everyone thinks they are cool.
3) Why I do it:
They are cool... but they are also a great exercise for runners, any other athletes who make bilateral movements, and anyone else who would like to build general strength in the hips, hamstrings, quadriceps, glutes and calves. They also improve balance and mobility. The muscles that are activated while running are maybe similar to the muscles that are targeted during this exercise.
4) Why it's so killer:
Doing a standard two-legged squat is hard enough to do without falling over.
Take one leg away... and squats get more interesting.
It's a fun exercise that I like to show off with... and it is also really fun to watch other humans (usually with very weak quads, horrible balance and pathetic flexibility) attempt.
Don't worry if you can't do it the first time you try.
There are many variations that make this exercise easier...or...harder.

I would say they are on the outside looking in, but Sara Hall is my underdog. She is at 2:26 now. If she can get down to 2:23 before the trials that could really help her out.

Probably a few more people than that. On another note, Sara Hall looks like she has extremely wide hips for a female distance runner.
What is of interest to me from this article is that, by contract, Kelly could not run another marathon for 60 days after not finishing the Boston Thon.
Others did not have that in there contracts. Not naming names.... unless Rupp didn't get an appearance fee or something.
Even though she has ovaries, she's still a baller. #respect
Kellyn will make the 2020 team. Along with Cragg and Hasay.
Anyone that includes Linden is not paying attention. She will not finish in the top 10. Her pace in her last 10k is the new Des Linden. Watch BAA 10k close next weekend and tell me what you think.
Shalane will retire before then.
Gwen Jorgensen is living in a fantasy world.
Molly Huddle will only use WMM for pay days but run on the track for the Olympics.

Maybe something about appearance money? Have never seen that.
Also anyone have a list of top 10 or 15? Website only has listings by individual names.
RIck, I'm guessing it was pretty similar across the board (accepting that Rupp is a special case and might be treated differently). I would assume that ~$150K that rupp likely made in appearance didn't mean much to him considering he makes multiples of that each year, and he likely only lost a percentage (50%?) for racing so soon after BOS. Having a 2:06 next to his name instead of a 2:09 is probably worth a lot more than ~$75K to rupp.
If she was wind assisted on a point to point course, that means she must have had to resist the wind for the same amount of the race, provided that it was blowing in the same direction the whole time. Say what you want, but she’s a 2:24 marathoner. I think it should be eligible.

Molly has the fastest american 5k
Molly has the fastest american 10000m
Molly has the american half marathon record.
Those are huge indicators that Molly will be the fastest american female marathoner when it is all said and done. To not put her in the top 3 would just be outright insane.
Since she is not going to run Chicago, and will more than likely run NY.( it's her home state and they are going to pay her well) ...We will not see here break the record or run really fast until sometime next year. And more than like she is going to run Boston to make up for the bad weather run that happened this year..
My biggest fear is that not only will she run Boston next year, but she will run New York again next year ,if she wins it this year, to defend the win. She seems like the Boston/New York dedication type. I really hope that does not happen.
I don't think Molly has ever run a road race outside of America....that scares me.

Amazing run! Love following this group, happy to see Kellyn run well after Boston.
I agree. Kellyn is a never a negative Nancy nor does she cause any trouble to anyone. It was an amazing performance. Hope she makes the 2020 OT.
Tired of the arrogance that comes out of Gwen's camp 5 times a week.

Huh? Point to point doesn't mean they turn around and return to the same place they start.

100%, but your point about the wind is wrong.

This type of clause may explain the weirdness surrounding Rupp's entry/non-entry/rentry in Prague. He probably was negotiating with Boston to waive it or Prague to make up for it.

Sara Hall? Zero chance.
