So, my Son has an NCSA profile. Bought it for him a couple of years ago, as a Birthday present. It’s expensive, but he said he didn’t want any other gifts, so I moved forward. Wanted to share our experience…
Maybe someone has a different experience, but I feel that it lacks any real value. There is nothing available through NCSA that you can’t do on your own. To be clear, my Son has had significant contact from Coaches, but none has come through a direct NCSA referral…not one. Also, keep in mind that if a team/coach doesn’t have an NCSA membership, too, you cannot reach them through NCSA. So, you’ll still need to do that work on your own.
It seems that their budget ran short in their website/app developer arena, & we constantly find issues with the interface. I believe that their video editing is done by people with non-sport specific familiarity. They showcase benign plays and leave out showcase worthy performances.
The advisors don’t “do” anything to promote your athlete. In literal terms, that’s not a part of what they even offer. They are purely an advisor capacity. But, in my opinion, the verbiage they use in onboarding is rather deceptive, and somewhat “smoke and mirrors”.
This turned out to be longer than expected, but it’s not a rant. I’m not angry, per se. I just wanted to share our experience, which may help provide insight to anyone considering NCSA. But, I have NOT found them to be a valuable asset.
Thank you for providing this useful information. When I read one of your ideas, I find myself working more quickly and quietly.
