My cadence for HM Tempo (6:26-6:35 pace) is around 197. Easy runs (around 8:00 pace) is around 188. I can't say whether or not that's a good thing. I tend to have a naturally high cadence. I'm not trying to shorten my stride or anything. I'm just running and not thinking too hard about it.

My cadence at 6:30 is 168-170. Couldn't imagine churning out 197 (which I hit around 4:20-30). I may try it later just to see what it feels like.
Yeah, I wonder what my cadence is around 4:20-30. I went back and checked some faster intervals to see what my cadence was. There's wasn't actually as much of a difference as I thought there'd be from 6:26 pace (197ish) all the way down to 5:30 pace. 200-205 spm. Obviously, the stride length opened up quite a bit for the faster running. I'm running a mile race in June on the roads, and I'm targeting sub-5:20 (I'm slow, but improving). I'll be interested to see what the cadence is like.
