The world's fastest 5k and the winning time seems to be 14:15??
Dude ran 14:18 at a parkrun down the road from me on Saturday.

Those are 2018's results. They were stopped by a train apparently... Meb bought the event and wants to get it back to it's original glory. It should be much smoother and faster this year.
“Train coming, race won’t start for another 5min, go ahead and do some extra strides if u want”
Not sure if it is 100% official/ratified, but Edward Cheserek ran 13:29 and which equals the world record! Apparently they went out a bit slow the first mile. Either way he was cruising down the home stretch. Pretty cool the watch.

The change of race ownership to the Ironman organization was really noticeable to those of us who have done that race for a lot of years. They seem to be trying to turn it into a "people's fun run". They did not even post results at the race (half a ream of paper too expensive?). The elite fields were a bunch of barely 2nd tier pros. This race does not fit the profile of all the other races they own, which are Ironman tri's or marathon/half marathon events. I really hope they will sell this race to a group that cares about putting on a 5K for serious competitive runners as well as the fun run crowd.
They give you a 5k participation medal though! I wish my high school coach gave me one of those when I broke 30mins for the 5K! Maybe if I paid him $40 he would have! :)
