Curious why doesn't the race doesn't attract other than Ethiopians?
I've wondered the same. Only theory I have is that Ethiopia picks Worlds and Olympic teams based on times, and Dubai is always guaranteed to be fast.
Of course this is a non-championship year, but maybe this selection factor has something to do with the race generally becoming popular among Ethiopians but not Kenyans?
Ethiopians tend to be Muslim while Kenyans are not? They fit in with the culture of Dubai.
False, but one factor could be that Ethiopia is a little closer to the race. Dubai might also prefer non-dark athletes.

I see many Ethiopian athletes make the sign of the cross (Indicating they are Christian, Though yes there are Muslim Ethiopian runners) as for Dubai preferring non-dark athletes, Muslim countries have no history of discrimination based on race, Read the twitter page of Khaled Beydoun a Lawyer and Critical race professor, he says racism and discrimination is unique to the white race, though he says some blacks have resentment towards Whites as a reaction to slavery.
Live stream not working!
Got another?

The race isn't for another 45 minutes....
They had a live countdown to live coverage, it should have begun 25 minutes ago...
Alberto Stretti has information on the rabbits. To no one's surprise, they're going out fast:

Hopefully, they don't have a clusterf*ck of a start like last year.
For those who don't recall, or didn't—last year the started raised an air-siren. Someone fired a staring pistol before the siren went off. The pack surged and knocked front-of-the-pack people down. Then the siren went off to officially start the race. It all happened with a second or so. Bekele was flattened by the first surge of the pack, and then run over by the second surge of the pack.
